How is your 2014 mileage so far?
Discussion
Almost a third of the year gone already!
I set myself a target of 100 miles per month for 2014.
Not much compared to many on here, but it'll do for me.
Current figures for 2014:
624 miles / 1004km distance
24,777 feet / 7552 metres elevation
53 hours moving time
Longest ride of 2014 so far - 45 miles / 72kms.
Trying to get a bigger % of my miles on the bike rather than in the car.
Done 5.5k miles in the car so far in 2014 - more work to be done then.
How about you?

Keep up the good, work it all helps, I only manage 8 miles a day, (hard 8 miles, I don't doodle), but when you've had your bus pass for 7 years it gets harder.
When I took up cycling out of the blue when I was about 46, I was driving a desk at the time, first year did just under 4000 miles, lost about 2 stone.
I used to log the mileage using my Cateye, but often than not it gives up recording, me thinks it's cold batteries up here.

2000 miles. My average speed for a decent ride is now well over 18 mph too.
Might try out for Paris Roubaix next year ;-)

Proper rides, or just on the plain?Might try out for Paris Roubaix next year ;-)

Anyways, i'm naff this year. 331 miles, just under 20k feet climb. Nowhere near 18mph, but other than when i'm freewheeling next to neighbours, i autopilot east not west

78000ft of climbing according to Strava. I try and get a hill in whenever I can Edited by Some Gump on Thursday 24th April 00:22
Come to think of it, my 18mph average is probably a tad optimistic too

2,699.5 km
70,310 m of elevation
Being doing lots more distance than usual to complete the Velobici challenge (1,767 km in 50 days) but I've been very over it the last few weeks and only carrying on because I was so close to the end. Now I'm finished that and the weather is starting to turn I'm planning on dropping back to basic commuting mileage.

Abysmal.
A couple of hundred non-commuting miles at most.
I've figured the problem though - an annoying creak from the saddle was sapping the joy of being on the good bike. Didn't realise how much I hated it until it was gone! Now that's sorted and I've also got a new bike inbound, it's time to get my arse in gear.

So far this year I'm at
1634 miles
40,253 ft elevation
This put me up 539 miles up and 16,000ft down on last year at this point. In my defence, I've ended up on the turbo a lot more at the start of the year due to a shoulder injury so not many hills going on there!
On a brighter note, I've been getting in plenty of longer MTB rides so hopefully I'll be in better form by the time my 12h solo's come round later this year.

Are you certain that creak wasn't just your joints?A couple of hundred non-commuting miles at most.
