Now what? (what bike)
Discussion
I snapped my single speed last night which I used to commute on all the time (mudguards, 23's)
It seems a great excuse to get a new bike
I'm torn between a replacement frame so I can run single speed again as I've got all the parts, or a new commuter bike. Something like this http://www.planetx.co.uk/i/q/CBPXLDNRDAPEX/planet-...
I currently have:
Nice road bike (standard double)
Cross bike (compact which I like off road, but am not keen on on-road)
MTB
(I've a second set of wheels for the cross bike but I don't really like it on the road, plus you cant fit front guards properly)
So, single speed or winter/all year commuter?

So, that aside, what do you think to the Hydro LR?
Having just bought a new road bike I could see myself selling the old one in the spring and getting something like a LR next time they're on sale for winter '16 road / all year gnarmacing.
Not sure I could justify the increased cost tbhHaving just bought a new road bike I could see myself selling the old one in the spring and getting something like a LR next time they're on sale for winter '16 road / all year gnarmacing.

Went and had a look at the single speed on Saturday, did not like it at all, but then I saw one of these in a different shop and I really liked. Need to arrange a test ride

Think it might be too small. I'm a 55/56 kind guy.I have a bit of an issue, I think my dislike of the cross bike on the road is the gearing, so consequently I've been looking for a winter bike with standard gearing, but cannot seem to find anything ion Planet X. Do they sell anything with "proper" gears
I'm coming to the conclusion that you are correct. I already have a reasonable winter bike, and I've just been using the big ring on the road all the time.
So I think I'm goinga fit fitted mudguards to it for now and crack on. As a temporary measure I'm going fit p clips to the front forks, but ideally I'd like to find some of the Boardman cross forks with eyelets. I believe they do exist, but where?
