Alarming noise from my roadbike - stumped..
Discussion
Any ideas on this would be appreciated: My roadbike has started making a screaming noise at speed, and I can't fix it. Offputting when it happens to say the least.
Symptoms
1. At speed(35mph + at a guess), especially down hill the bike starts to scream.. it sounds almost like an old air ride siren but higher pitched... I can't recreate this whilst the bike is stationary
2. Seems to only happen when freewheeling
3. Difficult to pinpoint where the noise is comming from ...
Whats been done
1. Rear freehub examined and regreeased by bike shop. They could find no issues
2. Bike service
3. Frame inspected by me. No cracks or dings visible: appears structually sound.
4. Checked wheels etc for alignment - no problems
... and still the screaming persists. Bike is a Giant TCR Alliance 0 (half the tubes are carbon, half aluminium) 2 years old - has never been crashed. Any ideas?

Thanks - I think you are right. I've checked in the rear wheel for an inspection of the bearings / freehub. They should be able to do it before the weekend, so fingers crossed.
I think anything else (e.g. frame / other transmission) would be making noises at other times..
Thanks all for the help.

.. well Sir you have exceptional taste in bikes! Will update.
Loving the Fuel so far: I've swapped over the bars, seat, grips and tyres to my favourite contact points and she feels great (no probs with the original items.. I've just settled on a preferred set up over the years). Going to be a good summer of ridding I think.
