What's the general consensus on these. I mean, I know they're quite heavy, but they seem very fast. Are there any other advantages over "normal" bikes, or are they just as gay as they look?

Sir! Sort yourself out!

I'm a fat knacker on a MTB plugging to/from work....and that would shame me for LIFE! eek
Don't worry, it has.
In defense, your honour, I was pootling along at the time, beacuse I was lost. For future reference, trying to pedal uphill and map reading don't go well together.

So, are they any good up hills? The one I say seemed to be quite fast uphill, but on longer, steeper acsents are they still as good?

While we are on the subject, Ive been looking at small folding trikes. Im disabled (Cerebal Palsy) so 2 wheeled bikes are totally out of question. I wanted something to get round le mans on first and foremost, as i do struggle.

ive found one of these: http://www.allterraincycles.co.uk/product/112642.h... which looks pretty cool, and not as "gay" looking as most trikes. I was going to ask for opinions, but then again, i guess these smaller folding trikes dont hold much populararity here!
It's not so small, but I think there are a few US companies who make folding recumbent trikes, and Hase in Germany do too.
