Am keeping a near-daily eye on the Autotrader, PH, and itr-dc2 classifieds. Figure if there's a good one around it'll be on at least one of those three.

itr-dc2 seems to be a mix of 'original car' enthusiasts and classic 'ricer' modifiers. So for what I want it's a 'wheat from the chaff' exercise. But agreed it's worthwhile, and thanks!

Note to self: Must stop upsetting CTR owners...there's more of them! hehe

CTR?!? How dare you I challenge you to pistols at dawn sir!

No a DC5. If only it had double wishbones it would be perfect

Yep. Double wishbones and some UK-optimised suspension and I bet the DC5 would have been every bit as good as the DC2, marginally quicker, and with a much better interior.

As it is it's still a good car, I just prefer the DC2.

Ah sorted the suspension by using some tein super streets from the US that they sell for the RSX. Adjustable ride height and stiffness. Played about with it a bit and its better for UK roads. Not perfect but not causing me to have trips to the Doc either.

Need to get some space so I store a second car for track use... DC2 it is

The DC2 has been praised in magzine reviews for years.

All those that read the Evo review and went "wow, bargain, best buy one" will all have forgotten about the article in 2 months. Just go looking for one then

Went looking for one with a good mate of mine right after the Evo article and looked at LOTS. The genuine cars at good money all good snapped up very quickly indeed.

Looked at a few snotters and riced examples and plumped for a mechanically excellent one that needed minor cosmetic work. £6250 for the car with T&T and £1300 at Auto Audio spent mintying and uprating.

I reckon it now looks, sounds and goes better than the 'mint' example Birmingham Honda had in at the time.

I'm actually trying to think of an alternative to my ITR at the moment, and nothing is coming up that appeals and is even close to being within my meagre budget

Thats my ITR in both recent EVO features btw so if someone wanted to make me an offer I could be tempted to let her go. Had it three years this April now and I still enjoy driving it

it's a tricky one Barry...

Had nine for 2 years this month. It is a great all rounder and my only car, just a bit highly strung for motorway miles. I think if i change it would be for a Monaro, but still too pricey at the mo.

Other route is to get it immaculate, a bit of tweeking, garage it and have a runaround. Then I think i'd appreciate it more.

It's not the be all and end all, but great at what it does for the cash, and as engaging as anything i've driven.

Other cars on my radar: Rx7, Integrale, Elise/Vx220, Griff500, early NSX, Early M5 - would require a runaround for those!

It is a tricky one for sure. I have a bike anyway so I don't want to go down the weekend car route, tried that already with the AE86, and we've got an RX7 in the family aswell now!

Strangely, I am drawn to a Monaro aswell Talk about polar opposites!

If anyones interested, mine should be going up for sale next week.

Blog here:
www.pistonheads.com/members/showcar.asp?carId=39118

Its going for its 72k mile service on the 18th, got 11 months tax and MOT. Serviced every 6k miles like it should be (not 9k as the book says). Currently got 65k on the clock. No Aircon though, because its ghey and heavy.

I'm hopefully replacing it with a 147GTA, but not sure how much of a mistake this will be. Having the Elise previous to the ITR means that for the past 4 years I've enjoyed some fantastic driver-focused cars, and with the GTA being more a cruiser I'm not sure how I'll find it. Beautiful engine though.

matt AT clublupo.co.uk if your interested. Oh, and it'll be going up for about £6.5k
