CRV bangernomics and brakes.

Reassuring to see they still have a bit of a demand, we're on the verge of replacing our much-loved 170,000 mile '02 SE Sport Auto with something slightly more frugal and new but I'm going to miss the old thing, it's been a trooper.
The rear calipers / pads have been our only real expense, new calipers have been fitted after an earlier rebuild but it still seems to like eating rear pads as a far higher rate than the fronts. No issues with them being spongy though, I tend to go for Mintex pads.
The solid brake hoses corroded a while back and that was a few hundred to sort so if you can taken any preventative measures around those now you might save in the future.
The oddest issue I've had was the washer fluid leaking, presumed the seal on one of the pumps had gone or the bottle split but could find nothing, turned out that the when the lights were on the headlamp washers were firing as normal but then the drivers side one just continued to trickle until the bottle was empty. I just disconnected the pump for the headlamp washers.
Almost tempted to hang on to it as a spare for tip runs and the like as it's unlikely to be worth anything but I might have to say farewell for space reasons.
Well, my OH is falling out of love with hers!
Went in for rear brakes, also needed handbrake & the back plates doing - back plates are hideously expensive & no S/H ones to be found
This is after sorting the solenoid issue.
It's gone back in today because brakes were still noisy! Oh, and her radio has stopped working which she's thrilled about.
Never rains does it.

I'm going through similar joys with mine now that I'm trying to sell it
Engine warning light on - code checked, number 1 lambda.
Sensor bought, fitted, codes clear, job done.
Light on again - number 2 lambda.
Sensor bought, fitted, codes clear, job done.
All good for a say, light on again, knock sensor.
I have one, somewhere, can't find it, it's also an underbody plastics off job and I don't have any spare clips.
I just want to sell it 😂

When you do get round to selling it, you may wish to edit your description of it in the my garage section, I don't think "awful" will have people queuing up to buy it 😀. I don't even remember writing that It's never been awful, I must have been having a bad day. A perfectly capable car for the it's designed for and surprisingly sprightly.
Had the front brakes pads and a caliper changed just now. Also new flexi hoses on the front.
Brake feel if anything is worse, it is quite possible to reach the floor with the pedal, but only with the servo. Without the servo it’s rock solid.
Guy at the garage thinks it’s a faulty servo.
Given it’s the third CRV that I’ve felt this on, I’m not convinced.

The servo sounds like it's working perfectly. Have you checked the rear calipers for sticking sliders or incorrectly installed pads (e.g. one of the spring metal clips not inside the piston)?Brake feel if anything is worse, it is quite possible to reach the floor with the pedal, but only with the servo.
