I read somewhere that Honda can tell how many times an s2k has hit the limiter (in the event of warranty claims), is this true or just myth? If its true, how do I do it? Would be useful for myelf as a prospective buyer

I'm not sure what it would prove anyway. Hitting the limiter in itself is not "a bad thing"(TM), it's there to prevent "Bad Things"(TM)

Very true, but it also indicates how the car has been driven and therefore the likely wear on the engine...

Can't find your ad Graham? Although I suspect its slightly out of my price range, i'm looking at the lower end of the scale!

Main problem at the moment is the insurance! They want 2 grand off me! And that's WITH my mum and dad as named drivers! Doesn't look good

22yo, 0 no claims, license for 4yrs. No claims/convictions. Have 2 willing parents to be named drivers/first drivers (done properly of course). Looking at limited miles as i'd buy a cheap commuter.

Ok thanks. I'm hoping i'll be able to find insurance for less than £1k? What'd you think?

Btw my dad has 9yrs no claims, and should he have to go first on the car, he will be using it occasionally in the week anyway whereas i'll mainly have it for the weekends. Hopefully that'll drop it a fair bit!

Result! More than just quoted me £557! That's with good ol' dad first, mum second and me third! I know I know, its technically not correct but it'll do for me!

No harm trying, i'll possibly even get a £25 M&S voucher!

Next best quote is £1000 from Admiral. Is insurance likely to cost more now because of winter approaching? As i'm not looking to buy a car until feb anyway...

That spreadsheet is very useful thanks. Unfortunately all in all, it doesn't look too good for me although I can't believe how much some people are paying!

Oh and btw what do you think of imports? Worth it at the right price? What about insurance-wise?

Btw just got a quote from www.moneysupermarket.com, £871 with £500 excess. Before I get all excited, is there any problem with Bell?
