Hi,

I'm getting some lads together for a Public weekend at the Nurburgring on the above dates.

Nothing official, just some like minded driving enthusiast that want to experience this shrine !!!

I am going to coordinate things, so if you fancy it, you're more than welcome to join us.

id love to go glen, but my wife is expecting our second child a week later, so it might be safer (for me) to say maybe next time... but do post when you go again.

well perhaps for a couple of weeks.....

Yeah after July Im unlikely to get back out on track till October....

And Ill be using the GT3 most of the time now too (becasue of the roll cage/harnesses...)
Plus my wife wants me to buy all the fire proof crap.

I think we should get yellow suits.//??

OK mate, but errr, you go first and i'll see what you look like !!!

On a serious note, if i was a father, i would probably be thinking about it myself, as you have more people to think about than yourself, and anything
that could save your life/skin, can't be that silly !!

Anyway, now you are a trackday vet, i reckon you've earned it !!!!

P.S. i suppose a Manthey conversion is way off the cards then !!!!

I may be at the Ring that weekend myself with a few friends.

I've just returned from two weekends at the Ring; the second for Easter public lapping - four quite varied but excellent days.

Manthey GT3 performed outstandingly well - and thankfully repaired in time after the MX-5 incident at Bedford. Thanks are due to the Manthey team for completing all the bodywork and suspension repairs in ten working days - would never have achieved that in the UK!

Just under 1000kms driven on track - no oil usage and no problems. Quite a contrast to some of my friends driving RX-7s - nice cars to drive, but not much fun when you have to empty the oil catch tank (whatever that is!) every lap!

The Ring management also linked the full GP circuit for three of the four days - great fun initially, and at least the GT3 has the performance to make it interesting - but after a while I was keen just to get back to the Nordschleife.

Kind regards

Steve

Steve,

Good to hear the car is sorted, i was gutted that i didn't realise you were there on that day until i spoke to Steve at JZ, as it would have been good to have a chat.

Thanks for the advice again re the Manthey kit, i am really chuffed with the handling and performance gains, which have transformed the car.

If you are out there on July 9th and 10th then we must meet up.

yep you're right the manthey is way off.

Just had the car serviced and the alignment done and it was as way out as it could be so should be a little quicker on the next day...which for me is on the mayday easytrack date...

Mortgage is nearly paid off, so will wait till after then before meddling too much.

As for the suit, well, I will look into it.
But I know if I saw you turn up in one, Id probably have to take the piss a little, so Ill expect a hard time!

Yep - I'm going to be there that weekend. Staying at Sliders Guest House on the Saturday night. Absolutely no idea what car I'll be in as yet.

yeah, alteast i will be able to concentrate on driving the track rather than really battling with the car. hopefully it wont be too long before i can think about taking real cars out.
