For hopefully never future use, what sort of prices are we talking about here?
Obviously it'll depend on distance, but what would be a ballpark figure for recovery from say Dorint Nurburg to Liverpool Airport?
I was getting quotes from places like Ontime for £1300+vat
are ontime specialists in car transportation? they don't seem to be.Obviously it'll depend on distance, but what would be a ballpark figure for recovery from say Dorint Nurburg to Liverpool Airport?

the main thing is whether you want dedicated transport, whether it needs to be covered and whether you are happy to go on a transporter with other cars and possibly wait longer. Also depends on what state your car is in!!

They're not solely dedicated to car transportation, but it's one of their divisions/services, and their trucks state 'global automotive transport services'.the main thing is whether you want dedicated transport, whether it needs to be covered and whether you are happy to go on a transporter with other cars and possibly wait longer. It was one of the ones I was recommended by my breakdown company when I needed repatriation (before the breakdown company organised their own for me).
I've not used them, I was just interested to see if that was the sort of cost I should expect if I need to pay get the car back from Nurburg next time. So if Lizard Logistics are in the same ballpark, and come highly recommended, there'd be no need to look elsewhere should the unfortunate happen...again
I only started looking last time because my breakdown provider started saying I didn't have repatriation cover and they could arrange it at my cost, or I could look elsewhere. Never needed to before so didn't know where to start. One of the local garages gave me the number of a regular who offered this service and said it's about €700, but when I got a text back it was €1400 - so I decided to ring around.
I only got one other quote through (Ontime) before the breakdown company decided I was actually covered, but it might take 4-6 weeks before the car was delivered back and it'd be done on a relay basis, with the car left in compounds (or scarily, car parks) overnight before being carried on with the next relay driver. When I told them I'd had a couple of quotes of around £1400, they said I could use my own service, but they'd only reimburse a maximum of £800 if I chose that option.

Thats a great image of the trailer. If you love your car then its not always about the cost. Its the not knowing where it is over a long period of time that would be difficult to stand. https://www.ontime-auto.com/vehicle-repatriation/

I've used Pistonheads as an information source for a while, but never felt the need to post. Following the recommendation on this thread, Alex has just delivered an Alfa GT for me from the far end of the country.
Quick response to original enquiry, could fit it in at a time that suited me at short notice (although I may have been lucky with that part), very friendly and car arrived, when expected, in perfect condition.
I would happily use again.
