Has the ring been open this year? All i have seen on the web cam is snow.

Somehow i can't see this event going ahead.

To be fair though - it is very difficult to predict the weather in sane parts of the world - doing so in the Eifel is impossible.

I agree, Graham can't win really, cancel and the weather clears up he looses. Don't cancel due to good forecast then the snow returns he looses.

I cant see that he'd loose either way... It doesnt go ahead he doesnt pay the ring anything. It goes ahead he makes some(?) money.

But going on teh theory that the rain will wash away the snow?? hmm.. dont see that happening. especially since the 1ft snowman my kids made last week is still standing and its been raining here fro the past couple of days

I can see tarmac on the Web cam - that's got to be a good sign

I'm hoping to be at the tunnel at around 11am too (GT3RS).

Just wish we knew one way or the other...

8am Thursday - Just looked at the webcam. The snow is definitely melting. And it looks like there's a gritter lorry there (!).

There is some resurfacing to be done - Hohe Acht to Galgenkopf (not all of it) - and the work by the webcam is to do with the new barrier system. They do not grit.
