Just got back - does seam a long way to go to suffer brake failure all day , but managed to get a few decent laps in before calling it a day.

Met some great people, including some on PH (cars below), a fellow Ginetta racer (although his car is working at the moment) and Justin Wilson, who is a genuinely top guy.

Bedford really does work as a track day venue - it may not be the most interesting track, or have any history, but you can get a hell of a lot of cars out there in relative safety.

Looks like a few long nights fixing the car now. Pics below (a bit random I'm afraid - in a bit of a mood at the time) - I've put some of mine in even though she is in the dog house at the moment - I've left her at work to think about what she's done!

Edited to try to fix the links to the pics - look right, should be there later!

Took the Tuscan S around Bedford today and what a great track! Had great instruction from Steve Lewis (TVR Tasmin Driver and instructor) would recommend him and has certainly improved my driving on the track today.

To top off the day I can't believe I went 5 laps with Justin Wilson in the JaguarJP1 (Le Man car) Justin's car control is just awesome...Pics following link;

Yep - I agree with Alan, it's a great track which really suits TVRs, and there's pretty much nothing to hit (except cones, but that should T-cut out! )

Like Alan, I also had some instruction from Steve Lewis, along with Slamm, and all three of us found him to be very good, and I'd certainly recommend him to others. He's very reasonably priced as well, and really helps you get the most out of the day.

Now where's my commission Steve?

What a truly brilliant day. Car was superb - faultless and Steve Lewis really helped me get the most out of it. I felt a lot more confident, smoother and faster by the end of the day. I too would thoroughly recommend Steve and would book him again for future track days this year. You get one hell of a lot more out of the day when you have tailored tuition by someone who actually knows TVRs.

We were the last to leave on Saturday (they chucked us out) and I drove home with a big grin on my face. I would definitely go back.

Steve is indeed a top bloke.

Glad you had a gread day Mel. We think that we have got to the bottom of the Ginetta problems - when I checked in on it getting to work this morning, it does appear to be sorry for the trouble that it has caused .

So, whenever you want that drive that I promiced you, drop me a line. We are 90% sure that we're going back to Bedford on the 27th to do a proper test this time. Mechanic has also been suitably chastised, so should have all the tools to make it go this time

Thanks Rich, that's very kind. I had wondered what Ginettas would be like to race, so I would be very keen on seeing what they are like to drive.

Glad to hear it's behaving itself now.

What about the guy in the caterham, who lasted about 2 laps before putting a piston through the block!!!

It took me ages to get all the oil & coolant of the front of the griff yesterday, but the engines death did look quite spectacular from behind!

It also made a change not to have a load of red mist inspired nutters on the track there for once. The standard of driving was probably the best I've seen there.

Was a great day, was good to see a load of TVR's on a track day too.

Excellent - just booked so see you there.

Let's hope that I do have a proper car this time .

Must admit, did come away very proud when people walked past £100k supercars to talk about a little £10k British battler. I may even be getting TVRitus, where I can excuse the problems as being all part of the ownership experience
