I wonder where this leaves MSV and their perhaps hasty Facebook post?

I would have thought it leaves them open for some explaining to do!

Not if easy track has ceased to trade and then been sold and kick started

Over the years Easytrack seems to have gone bust and re-invented itself more times than Kerry Katona. Always pay for things on credit card.

They could rename themselves as 'Sleazy Track' doing that too often wink

An update on their website this morning:

--- As of 17th April EasyTrack.co.uk is now operated by a new owner. As long time customers of EasyTrack, when the previous brand owner decided to retire, we could not resist the opportunity to begin UK track days to complement the European events we've been running for many year. With many of the previously advertised events going ahead, all bookings/credits/vouchers will be honoured. Stay tuned for more events and why not consider our first event below - Bedford Autodrome Saturday 27th April.

And 1 car track day listed, so hopefully all getting sorted and those of us with membership packs will be ok.

I do hope msv don't push more out of business. I did a day at bedford last month and it was combined with "experience" day events as well. So suddenly we had m3s and Ferraris diving up the inside into corners. And then a Ferrari collected an mx5....

Do they do that at all circuits?
Ferrari at Bedford? how could this happen...dB is so so low there!

It was very quiet somehow. But they do indeed have a 360 in the stable. I presume they have stuck some extra silencing in the exhaust run somewhere.

They've never gone bust and they've always been called Easytrack since I began using them dating back to the late 90s. The original Ltd company was called Trackdays Ltd (with I assume a trading as name of Easytrack) and in 2004 was changed to Easytrack Ltd.

How that is reinventing themselves more times than Kerry Katona I don't know! silly

Gotta love the BS that some of you come up with on the internet! irked

Same company number or not? If not then it's a new company, not the same isn't it? That's one of the things that phoenix companies do - the original goes bust then a new one with a similar name starts up with a clear credit history. Not saying that's the case with this company, because I don't know, but that's the principal.

Yes, same co. number. It changed from Trackdays Ltd to Easytrack Ltd in 2005, although Marcus has/had other companies related to the same business, most of which are now dormant.

The net worth of Easytrack was negative £91k as of the last filing, so I wonder where the money/profit went rolleyes

I also wonder if there was a dispute between ET and MSV over credit, as the ET credit risk score changed in early March...

You are wrong. Matt is right. I am happy to fill you in with all the details if you wish to be re-educated but to save me the bother and you the humiliation of being proven so catastrophically wrong you could just apologise and we can all move on :-)

Accusing someone of being a bullsh!tter is somewhat unacceptable when it turns out they're telling the truth ;-)

I didn't accuse anyone. My statement was directed at the general BS on the subject that it seems most people haven't a clue about (and according to you Mr Expert then neither do I!)

You are obviously one of the reasons this forum's unofficial name is Penisheads!

Defiant until the end, even when offered hard facts to prove contrary to your opinion.
How ironic, that whilst moaning about bullsh!t, you were in fact peddling it yourself!

Well to be fair, you did really. You quoted my post as one of your examples of "BS on the subject".

Impressive rudeness for a newcomer. No need for it really.
And as for the "Mr Expert" sarcasm directed to Jonny - you might want to put your spade down before you make your hole any bigger. laugh

What hard facts? What it looks like to me is nothing more than another TDO offering an unsubstantiated opinion about one of his competitors in a very arrogant fashion - which is a shame as I've heard nothing but good things about Bookatrack previously. As per the above, I booked on an easytack day before the change of ownership/insolvency/whatever and so have been taking a keen interest in this. I've looked into the corporate history of easytrack limited and, as per one of the other posts in this thread, I can't find anything to indicate a pattern of going bust and reincarnation - the company was in existence for over a decade, with a change of name in 2004. Otherwise the corporate filing was up-to-date and there is nothing out of the ordinary filed at companies house. If Jonny, or anyone else, knows something to the contrary I'd be interested in hearing it - feel free to PM me. Otherwise I've had nothing but good experiences with easytrack in the 5 years or so that I've been doing trackdays and am looking forward to Bedford at the end of the month - although I'll be making all bookings with any TDO by credit card in the future!

Regards Will

OK apologies in advance for this. Many will consider this an inappropriate post and I realise it's childish and unprofessional of me to get involved. It's certainly not my intention to appear arrogant but it does frustrate me when misinformation is posted.

Firstly, I am not just a rival TDO looking to discredit a competitor. Some explanation follows as to why I am quite as passionate and knowledgable about this topic.

Back in 1998 I started organising track days as a hobby and during 1999 I met Marcus - he was a client of mine. He had the idea of turning my hobby business into a formal limited company and thus Easytrack was formed as a 50/50 venture between the two of us. I commissioned the website and ran the company for around 18 months before Marcus and I had a sizeable and very public disagreement and I set off to set up BaT. I was in my early 20's at this point and fair to say I was very naive, immature and didn't handle the split at all well.

That original company was 03840419 : EASYTRACK LIMITED and was renamed to CIRCUIT DAY EVENTS LIMITED before being disolved.

04278462 : EASYTRACKDAY EVENTS (UK) LIMITED was formed 29/Aug/2001 and disolved 31/Oct/2006

04620106 : EASYTRACK LIMITED was formed 18/Dec/2002 and was renamed ELISE TRACKDAY HIRE LIMITED before being disolved 13/Feb/2007

05051372 : EASYTRACK LIMITED formed 20/Feb/2004 but was dormant for a number of years and will no doubt be dissolved with a negative balance sheet of £91K before any more accounts are filed

Fairly sure i've missed at least 1 other company which I can't find now but essentially there is a proven track record for phoenixing. Without a full set of accounts from each of the companies I can't guarantee how long each one was "trading as easytrack.co.uk" and how long each was dormant, but having had one eye on the setup for the last decade I'm supremely confident that this last company is the only one that has submitted anything like 3 consecutive years full sets of trading accounts.

From a personal perspective, I'm glad Marcus has finally left the business as I can now put to rest a totally unnecessary gripe that's been eating away at me for the last 13 years. We were very good friends for that short time we worked together and I still recall with great fondness some of the good times we had together prior to the split. I honestly and sincerely wish him the best in the future in whatever he decides to do and at some point would welcome the opportunity to shake hands and walk away as it's not healthy for anyone to hold a grudge like this for so long.

Despite everything that's happened, I maintain Easytrack is a great name - I came up with it in the kitchen of his dads house in Cirencester :-)
