Is hyper car that just happens to have a hatchback auto car
The magnificent four-seat, four-wheel drive Ferrari is a hypercar carrier of four unrivaled in ethos or execution
It’s a GT/3dr shooting break anyway......

15K on a well sorted GT86 with the manifolds and map done.
I know FWD can be fast on track as can AWD but nothing beats a proper RWD sportscar.
It isn't all about all out power.
Unless the OP states he needs 'hyper hatch', no matter what you do to the gt86 it will never be 'hyper' enough I know FWD can be fast on track as can AWD but nothing beats a proper RWD sportscar.

edit, would go with what you suggested as for me would be the most fun.

For me I’d be looking at the following if doing track days:
- 308 GTI
- 208 GTI by Peugeot Sport
- Astra GTC VXR
- Megane RS
- Leon Cupra
- Fk2 Civic Type R
Unfortunately I don’t think £15k will get you into the hyper hatches (A45s, RS3, Focus RS (highly debatable) or the M cars).
Also think it not worth getting caught up on the RWD M-lites as once on track they are going to show up very quickly why they are M-lites regardless of bhp. I’d rather a properly sorted FWD hot hatch.

wWould like to know what is the fastest hot hatch and what is the slowest hyper hatch?
Well, my creaky old hypo-hatch 105bhp Alfa 147 JTD on CrossClimates was seriously slow at the 'Ring...although did show an indicated 130mph down Fuchsröhre...once...as I realised the standard brakes are really not up to stopping it from that sort of speed My Z4MC (coupe with a big hatch) was/is much better...although not necessarily more fun.

Please cut this hyper bs.
No need to get your knickers in a twist. The term has been around for nearly a decade now since the A45 came on the scene. 4wd hatchbacks that can do 0-60 in 4 seconds aren't what most people think of when they hear 'hot hatch'.Please cut this hyper bs.

Although it has a hatch I would class it as coupe as thats its bodyshape. My Z4MC (coupe with a big hatch) was/is much better...although not necessarily more fun.
The 140i is a top end shopping hatch, is it hyper though?
As an owner of a Golf R I can confirm that it's a great road car and can be stupidly quick in almost every weather condition. The fact that it is so competent on the road can definitely make it feel a little boring or sterile if your looking for the 'fun factor' rather than a car to get you from point A to point B, fast, easily and safely..
Is it great base for a track though? I would say probably not. A few modifications can definitely make it OK on the track and it can also be enjoyable too.
For me though, being on track driving is partially about being much closer to the limit than on a public road and also being fun which I don't think the R would be the best choice.
If you want a VW MQB chassis just for track use, then I think I would choose the Golf TCR over the R.

The numbers you see on trackdays is probably the judge on what’s best.
The ones that stand out as a lot of people’s choice are: Type R, Clio/megan, mini if you include older ones, 2 series if they count, fiesta st. Hyundai i20, or a Yaris.
Usually very little sign of regular turn ups of the same people in a golf r/s3 etc or the amg a series.
Not sure that fits with hyper anything but def seems to cover the sub 15k daily/trackday/4 seat category.
