Lets all be friends smile

I think the big shame is that track rental in some circuits are becoming more and more expensive , pushing more and more companies out of business and the result will be less and less track days available to us frown

Eduardo.

Jonny

Many thanks for the explanation, which certainly makes for interesting reading. I for one was unaware of your history with the previous owner of Easytrack, and I now understand the context of your previous posts. I don't think that it's inappropriate either for you to set out the factual background of the various corporate entities as this can easily be checked at Companies House, although obviously the mods might think differently.

Cheers

Nicely put Jonny.
Can we leave the TDOs alone please.....We need them.
Without them our fun is gone.

I see what you did there. That's really clever, you must be proud.

I did wonder what happened with Easytrack and Johnny. My first ever track day was with Easytrack at Kemble back in '99 I think.

I think you'll need to do more than lick his balls if you want a discount!

I find easier / safer to book with a TDO who is also the track owner, which obviously limits the choice to MSV. But at least, in difficult times, there is a better guarantee that the day will run. It also kind of cuts out the "operational middle-man" and should result in a better run event. Nothing against indy TDOs obviously, just a "consumer" choice.

Just because the TDO owns the venue it does not necessarily follow that the track day will be better IMO. If anything, you could argue that independent TDOs have more incentive to run quality days and satisfy their customers as its their only income stream.

I agree.

A well run day is very quick to be advertised on the net as much as I bad one.

So if you don't have it for granted and want your clients to come back you put everything in it.

Well I can't remember a bad experience with MSV but I can remember bad experiences with indy TDOs.

Let's bear in mind that if it hadn't been for the likes of Jonny, Marcus, Calum & Melindi, Graham and all the other pioneers of trackdays, the circuits may not be enjoying the success they achieve from running them now.

MSV, especially, waited for a demand to be created and then got into the market on the back of the original TDOs.

So I think we should acknowledge the hard work that's been done by those original organisers, even if they don't all fit everyone's personal preferences.

Has anyone had a refund yet? I had a phone call last Wednesday offering me a refund or an alternative event. I requested a refund, but so far no moneys transferred back.

Spot on Freddy...i would also point out that when the TDOS book a circuit they take risk and have to pay the invoice...along comes MSV, and poaches the customer and his monthly allowance for a trackday.....and yet still expects the TDOS to pay their bills.....so if you look at it that way...the TDOS took the risks, paid the bills, built the business and now the circuits, take their business, and still expect them to pay the bill.....cake and eat it I'd say....support your tdo and stay away from the circuit run events.
