Destination Nurburgring 10 trackday, 2nd and 3rd July 2014.
Discussion
Sorry to crash in but what do you mean by "understanding how to make the most of it".Only asking from an instructors point of view. You can learn an awful lot in a day, ie, braking ,turn in ,clip points and where you dont need to brake.BUT, its a long way round here and takes a while longer to "learn".lol.Destination is one of the best ways of learning the mentioned points because of the difference between the traffic on a TF day when it can be very busy, constantly checking rear view mirrors takes away some concentration but IT HAS TO BE DONE.

I believe he's referring to the 'lead/follow with radios' system we employ for the free sessions?ringweekends said:

Exactly, especially as I can't hear F all in my car. At DN7 on the GP circuit this was of limited value. Fortunately at DN8 the instructor was willing to give me in car tuition, once the initial lead/follow lap had been completed to his satisfaction. At a much earlier DN event I was given tuition by Adam of Circuit Days, he was great. I'm not sure whether tuition is available from instructors who are not official Ring staff anymore - not that there was any wrong with the last guy at DN8, I was very happy with his tuition and critique.

I can arrange dedicated one to one's in addition to the (still) free sessions.
Instructors chosen by me personally, depending on customers experience/nationality etc.

You mean Dirty Adam?We can hook you up with whatever you need, why don't you do me a line and I'll see what I can do?

What do folks think of the no overtaking 8am-9am sessions, for me it will be interesting to just drive all the lines, check the turn in marks, kerbs and transits safely without constantly checking mirrors........
I don't get it, why do TF when we're paying for DN10?
Why not go karting at Spa instead, no 3rd party liability issues, great track, good hire karts, admittedly there's no real marshalling but that's not a disaster.
I'll be there late Tuesday afternoon with a mate of mine, hope to see some of you there too.

This worked very well last year at DN9. It allows people to go out and do some familiarisation laps without pressure of faster cars overtaking. The pace of cars was enough that there wasn`t a long queue behind someone doing 30mph everywhere and as it was my son`t first time driving the ring, we really benefitted from them
The 8-9am sighting session is invaluable regardless of how much experience you have.
Even if you know the track well it gives you the ability to look for puddles under tress that you wouldn't spot at high speed
or just take photos and generally have a look around.
DN9 took this to the max as we got stuck in a 16 car tail back behind a 3 series BMW that didn't exceed 35 MPH.

I've sorted our accommodation out, just need to book Euro tunnel.
Decided to have the whole week of work arriving 30th Jun.
Just checked and the GP track is open on the 1st of July in the evening. Will be booking a few 15 minute sessions on there
Cheers
