Thread resurrection as not really worthy of a new thread - does orientation of the phone matter for Harry’s Laptimer, or does it work regardless.
I’m looking at mounting points in the passenger footwell and specifically wondering if it matters if the phone faces sideways.
Upright in vertical or horizontal position shouldn't matter...as long as you recalibrate it before you use it.I’m looking at mounting points in the passenger footwell and specifically wondering if it matters if the phone faces sideways.
However, if you're using it for GPS as well, then the footwell may not get a great/accurate/quick signal.
I have the App on an iPhone XS & it works well either orientation, however a couple of issues worth noting.
Firstly, even fitted next to the rear view mirror, so with good line of sight & you'd expect a great GPS reception, i've had to invest in a separate GPS receiver that sits on the dash & paired with the iPhone works very well.
A plus is the video resolution of the iPhone XS is excellent, so i use the phone for Harry's & Video as this overlays both very well, however it's best not to keep the video running in review mode whilst driving, as i found the iPhone is overpowered & some data gets lost, so use preview before setting out & then switch to the data view for a better outcome.
