Blag as many passenger laps as you can. Forget the ring Taxi, a local in a half decent Golf will scare you stless.

My 'Ring days are long since over alas. I had the golden era in the 1990's/early 2000's when it was a fiver a lap and you could drive straight in on a weekend. My first lap was August 1999 in a Mark 4 Astra 1.4i hire car. I did exactly 100 laps 1999-2007 and jacked it in just as it was starting to get silly expensive and silly busy. My highlight was a 9.55 in a 318Ti VLN car. I thought I was a legend until the owner did it nearly a minute faster. rolleyeslaugh

I have to say, I don't miss it much. I'd miss Cadwell Park and Croft a lot more.

I've been twice now but in groups and one of the members of the group has been A LOT over the years and is the dad of the group. Basically organises and pays for everything and we send him money laugh i've never driven over myself in one of my cars but have driven a few cars on the continent whilst over there and the driving on the right feels pretty normal to be honest.

We are going again soon in a smaller group and i think i'll be driving over. I've thought a few times about taking a few days off and just going myself (i think once i've driven over this time with friends i'll be more then happy to, im a bit of a worry wart!). It's not even a massive journey really. We tend to get the ferry from Hull (2.5 hours from us) and then its only about 3.5 hours from the otherside to the ring. I think it's an hour more from Calais if you are down south.
