That Spa top speed does seem a wee bit conservative, my std Exige was pushing 120 there in the wet (certainly needed to go up into 5th gear).
You may well be right - I'm going from shaky memory as I was concentrating more on the braking point for Les Combes than the speedo! I also went up to 5th (not sure how the ratios compare between S and std).I have it on video but the speedo's not in frame so that doesn't help!
That Honda Elise sounds good - how many BHP? I presume about 300 as per Atom?
Exige S will have the same ratios, from memory the limiter in 4th is around 115mph. In the dry(ish) I was hitting the limiter in 4th on the way into Eau Rouge, a small lift then flat but the gradient takes off so much speed so almost to the bridge before changing up to 5th...
La source is of course different now so would probably need 5th before Eau Rouge...and need to brake!
Indeed the Honda Elise with Jackson S/C was around 300bhp. Early car so around 750kg.

I was hitting between 115 mph and 120 mph through Avon Rise just before braking hard for Quarry on Castle Combe in the Corrado, but I have no idea of my cornering speeds on any of the bends - I'm too busy driving to waste concentration on the speedo.
That's going well, Jon. Those R888s must have been working nicely. On road tyres if I do a decent attempt at the previous corner I brake for Avon Rise at about 120mph + ish a bit. That's in the Boxster too. But everything depends on the previous corner. I reckon with sticky tyres and my level of talent approaching 130 should be possible there but I've never made that yet. (To be fair I haven't fitted the sticky tyres yet either...)Of course - a bit more talent on my part would make a bigger difference but I've found no shortcut to getting any, sadly...

Oh, I wasn't cornering at 120mph Don! I meant I hit 115-120 mph just before the crest of Avon Rise, then light brake and over the crest, then hard brake and turn into Quarry. I'm not brave enough to flat over the rise and then brake! Of course - a bit more talent on my part would make a bigger difference but I've found no shortcut to getting any, sadly...

My first ever time at Combe I went flat out into Avon Rise from a pit lane start - I learnt to respect AR very quickly

...in my car its probably better to suffer some understeer on turn in and not quite make the apex to hang on to more speed for longer...probably...but its hard to do it when getting it wrong involves the gravel trap!

I was braking into Eau Rouge - not hard, and I may not have needed to at all but I'm not brave enough not to!La source is of course different now so would probably need 5th before Eau Rouge...and need to brake!

I just rewatched the video and I did get to 5th before Eau Rouge (new La Source) and 5th again a bit before the bridge, so I think you're right about 125 being conservative.
