What I meant was don’t keep going at full tilt thinking it will be ok, or half a lap later you will have no brakes at all
Prophetic or what. Did a track day at Cadwell on Tuesday, last lap before lunch this geezer noticed his brakes were going soft all lap, last corner before the pits he had no brakes at all and had to use the back of another car to stop himself. Result was about £3000 of damage to each car and end of day.Trevor450 said:
I’m still annoyed for Alex, he really didn’t deserve that on his first ever track day!
I'd have been gutted if that was mine or if I'd done that to anothers car, Hope he had insurance.I was surprised how well the TT's Quattro system gripped and fired you out of the corners, I was also supprised how quickly it all overwhelmed the brakes. Mine started to fade after only 2 hot laps. To continue pushing on with fading brakes is crazy.
Wellground’s comment about queues getting on track at Castle Combe echoes my one big gripe with so called open pit lane there.......12 cars limit on track is either utterly pathetic, or caused by the noise nazis at the local council. I was there on a really hot day in an overheating open top car with no aircon. Sitting in the pit lane waiting with the engine ticking over was seriously irritating. My car has a V8 heater!

There were 20 on track, about 60 queuing at one point. It's called semi open pit lane and it doesn't work. Too many cars entered, simple as that.Gassing Station | Track Days | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
