Cage prices vary, depends where you buy from and who fits it really, mine has a Custom Cages one, fitted by me and a mate who has a tig set. T45 will be dearer to buy in the 1st place but is lighter.
A track ready car is a good way to go, as so long as it hasn't been bodged the hard work will have been done.

No real right or wrong as to which is best, as depends how you define 'best' 36 is cheaper to buy bit cheaper to prep & lighter, 46 is a larger wider & more advanced platform & does have more grunt & when specced to similar spec vs a 36 will be quicker at a long track, 46 has a not too bad spackmatic option if that's your bag, whereas the 36 smg version is really bad.
I've been pondering selling one of my 36's if it might be of interest, decent spec, not much use, is the M3 in Dales article, when I acted as camera car to his 328 fast lap-

His Ph article was a bit daft, was hardly a race I was on camera car duties.
Better article of the same here, just less pics-

My suspension isnt 'that' cheap stuff, H&R coilies with modded spring rates, still a grand but not quite the near £3k stuff dale blagged.
or a Spa lap here, best from 6.30 onward for GT2 hunting
