Who do you know that has the coolest job?
Discussion
I've just started work as a graduate design engineer at Nissan and next week I'm going to get to drive the GT-R and the 370Z (I think). It's what I've wanted to do since I was knee high (apart from be an F1 driver and I'm a bit old and fat for that now!).
Tis pretty cool if I do say so myself!

A friend of mine owns a fairly well known company that makes GPS timing gear. It seems like he is always playing about with some form of fast car, which has led to some very cool "work" trips for him recently and has absolutely not left me feeling like i should have worked hard in school, honest.
Although i do work with an I.T. bod who winds people up by saying he is a "Confectionary Design Guru" and helps them get the shape of biscuits ergonically correct. The staggering thing is the amount of otherwise intelligent people (male and female) who have fallen for this.

my missus is officially a 'rocket scientist' - some of her hair is in space! Sounds amazingly cool in some respects and staggeringly long days and huge amounts of maths in others...
recently met the captain of a Superyacht which sounded like a pretty tranquil lifestyle if you like water

Got a good friend who is a Warrant Officer in the SAS - very down to earth, never mentions what he does for a living when out and about but you just know that he has done and seen things that not many folk have.
My brother in law knows a similar type of guy who is SBS if I recall. He lives in/near the village my BiL grew up in in Dorset, v down to earth, pleasant, doesn't talk much about his job just says he's in the forces, isn't around much, disappears for long periods of time and comes back very tanned. And is also apparently an excellent shot!Mario149 said:

I enjoy my work also - qualitative research - some of it with big auto manufacturers - but I do sometimes envy one of my younger brothers, who has carved out a very fruitful career producing somewhat eclectic pornography.
Eclectic in what way?!Bloke in my class was Team Leader of the Red Arrows for a while, founded the Blades display team, too. (we were friends briefly at school but I doubt we'd know each other if we fell over each other now)
I know a few 'published' musicians, which can be cool, but they're not mobbed in the street or anything.
Two friends of mine were at university with Johnny Vegas, or Michael Pennington as they knew him, he must have a cool life.
Another friend of mine is a singer, has toured with Michael Crawford and Brian May and been in West End musicals. I like the idea of getting paid to do something you'd almost pay to be able to do, like playing music or singing.

Depending upon which government, how easy would that be? Fleece populace, bamboozle 1st world aid donors, hide illgotten loot in Swiss bank; rinse and repeat. If boss's name is Obiang, avoid brain/heart/organ of choice being eaten by employer.Which
I've not been doing my job very long, but it's pretty cool.
