You were only told of the job offer today? Do you have it in writing? A call usually precedes a letter to find out if you'd be minded to accept.

I wouldn't quit until signed contracts had been exchanged.
Thanks. It's a good point.

They are sending something over to me via email now.

Thanks all.

Information duly noted.

I've actually had some good news in the last hour. I've been offered a new job. smile

I intend to make sure the loose ends of this are tied up and I will be reporting it to the police. I dont have to work with the woman much longer though.
When do you intend to report this assault to the police?

He already has, and has an incident number.

Make a Subject Access Request to your employer for ALL cctv footage in which you are visible - send a copy of the assault to the police to aid in their investigation and put a copy on YouTube, remembering of course publicise the URL through this thread.

All of this doesn't seem believable.

I'd be leaving stating that they haven't followed the correct procedures and that I dont feel safe in the workplace anymore. I'd also be taking them to court while starting the new job ASAP.

Quick update.

Slapper is in disciplinary meeting at end of week. All I have been told is that she can't understand why I've made such an issue of it. She said I seemed fine after the slap. Wow!

Notice handed in. They dont want me to leave. Want me to come back for the odd session.

I said I couldn't work anymore with the slapper. Manager looked mortified when I said that.

Have a copy of grievance procedure. Awaiting disciplinary procedure.

Have asked for cctv footage to be retained and told manager I've been to the police. She looked a bit perplexed at this.

Told manager about my anxiety and how it's been affected. I dont think she understands.

Will know more on Friday. Slapper has been moved from shift tomorrow and my last supposed day with her is Monday. She will need to be moved from then to.

Will update when I know more.

An employee hitting anyone, colleague or customer, would be off the premises in a matter of minutes - and not allowed to return until HR process concluded.

Sorry but I'm in the 'this possibly didn't happen' camp. Apologies if I'm wrong, but simply what you've said doesn't add up - especially considering casinos are twitchier than most on complying with various regulations and employment law.

Whether there's a strand of truth running through, possibly, but he's obviously making stuff up/embellishing all over the place.

In a well managed environment, yes. But there are plenty of crap managers and crap work environments.

One thing to take from that thread is that the OP despite the injustice he experienced chose to walk away. In a similar vein Funky appears to be doing the same. Sometimes its best to.
I note some posts suggesting that the assault allegation has to be taken as far as possible I disagree I prefer to use the word assault rather than slap.
A slap to me may be something that doesn't cause me much discomfort.
This is due to my rugged face which has been weathered by outside work. But if I had a more softer type face a slap may feel more like a punch. But I digress. the point is that assault is a fairer description.
An other point is that if the woman in question does get away with it this is not something that should become of concern to Funky. it is up to his workplace to deal with the woman. If the woman is involved in a sexual liason with the boss or is blackmailing him because of his fetsish for wearing silky womans undergarments under his trousers whilst at work it is of no concern.
The company should deal with the issue accordingly. If the woman goes on to further assault another 15 people it is not any responsibility of funkys. He has done his bit . He is moving on

By getting the slapper sacked, she could end up in the same induction briefing as the OP at the new employer...

More likely she will carry on. But eventually she will be caught out.
Or not
