Thanks for the messages of support guys, it means a lot. I realise I was stupid, and am off to face the music nice. It's ironic that I have received more messages of support from the total strangers on here, than I have from my work friends... Sorry colleagues. Will post outcome later.
I think you have a problem, you're at it again!

When is the meeting?
hounslow1967, you can't seem to stop.

If my colleague was the one bad mouthing the company publicly, I might feel less charitable too.

I would normally say, keep us posted, but it might not be recommended.

More likely they didn't want to be seen to be agreeing with him, possbily in case he dropped them in it in the future.

BTW Less than a month ago, you asked about the company using Social Media to their benefit. Maybe their learn faster than you thought?

I tend to agree with the first part you said.

Not entirely sure what you mean by the 2nd bit.

If his previous incursion is anything to go by, he's probably been promoted.

We have all been under stupid amounts of pressure for the last 3 months, and everybody blows their top sometimes, this was just my way of letting off steam.
Do I have a defence?

I'm surprised companies care really.

Do they think that it doesn't happen in private anyway? It being public doesn't really make any difference does it? In practice?

On the flip side, people are pretty dumb to say anything on SM sites. Forums seem a safer place, email the best really...

And after all that, why not just say you are a practical joker in your free time, haha, isn't it funny. Unless they can prove otherwise it's a bit cretinous to assume it was meant to harm/offend/whatever else?

Well, looking at his Facebook profile, he actually added his employers to his account on September 22cnd. No wonder they found his comments so easily.....

Do a search for "suspended disciplinary" and this thread is number 6 in google. Typing anythign into the internet always has the potential to be found. Some people really forget that.
