Been offered a job that is 10k more then what I'm on now. It's a slightly higher responsibility then what I'm doing and I'd say the commute is maybe 45 minutes rather then the 1 hour im doing now.
Would make sense to take it, however discovered that everyone on the team (I'm 37) are all in there late twenties. Putting me off bigtime in all honesty. I came into the industry later as it was a career change for me but the through that everyone is much younger then me is putting me off quite a bit....would that be a deal breaker for people??

In my day job most of my colleagues are 15 to 25 years younger. Day to day it's not an issue at all, it's the more senior people that are sometimes a bit puzzled, but generally most people are open to the experience I bring in from other industries. Wouldn't put me off. Young people are generally like older people; only younger. They'll be a mixed bag but for example I just left a job where my 'best work friend' was 22 (I'm 47), but we just get on. I'm fact most of the younger ones were preferable to the jaded old b

Just do it.I started a completely new career just over 3 years ago in a team that are over 30 years younger than me, at the same level as them, I now manage the team and they are a great bunch to work with, give me a good insight in to their ideas from a young perspective and breaks me out of the old codger stuck in my ways mindset.

Absolutely this.ds my age. Christ! You're not even that old yet. Just do it.Working with younger people keeps you younger.
One's ability to absorb new things diminishes with age but working with younger people increases your ability to stay 'modern' but with the advantage of the added wisdom your older age affords you.

If a four year old can work with a three year old then a forty year old can work with a thirty year old. 2 people from my team. One is 22 the other is mid 50’s.
I could give the same task to both of them.
The 22 year old would immediately pick it up, figure out what is required, learn anything about the task that he may not already be familiar with and complete the task fairly autonomously and to a high standard.
The 52 year old would give me every reason why the task couldn’t be completed. Complain in private to other members of the team about being given something to do that he’s not 100% sure about and need his hand holding throughout the entire process while being told ‘this isn’t how we did it at my last place’
I’m rapidly approaching 50 myself and having worked with a number of younger colleagues over recent years I know which I’d rather be working alongside.
I could give the same task to both of them.

My general experience as well. Always exceptions and sometimes having a experienced head can be better. But 9 times out of 10 i'd give it to the up and comer. I could give the same task to both of them.

To be fair that can be the difference between family man with a dog to party animal out every night off his face. There is a possibility they’ll have little in common. Interestingly I have a boss who is 33 or 4 and is younger than I am (36), most of the team are around 30 - in some ways it is irritating as they’re not particularly worldly in some instances but in other ways I’ve learned a lot from them. You’d be surprised how much someone who is 28-29 knows about certain things that maybe passed someone who is 6-7 years older completely by.
That said there is a healthy mix of older people
In the business too, so it all balances out.
Suspect what OP is actually struggling with is the fact people younger than him are being paid the same.
