Retirement jobs what's out there to enjoy ?
Discussion
Forward thinking so thought I'd start a thread on jobs come retirement .
Full time employment is fine but working within something rewarding or based around interest being cars and motorbikes .
Basically anything other than the city financial ste !
Not sure postie is me but good exercise so I could be tempted .
50 now and hoping to make some financial changes this year to give me and family a few options .
Don't really want to work weekends or at least not Sunday's

Look for local museum, steam railway, Nat Trust property etc
This is interesting will do some research on this. Are there paid positions within these organisations ?
I came out of retirement to be a part-time 'Brand Ambassador'. Basically, a Demonstrator driver and trainer - our company moves demonstrator cars around the country and we do a full handover to the customer, explaining in detail how everything works.
We currently have contracts with Mercedes, Lexus, FIAT group (which tantalisingly includes Alfa, Maserati & Jeep, i.e. so QV, Ghibli and SRT8...) and others. I get to drive all over the country to places I haven't been to, meet some very interesting people and sample some excellent cars all at someone else's expense - and get paid (peanuts) for it. amongst our team, we have retired captains of industry, BBC producers, ex-helicopter pilots, all doing it just for something to do for a few days a week.
I quite enjoy it! - This i REALLY like the sound of. See how things pan out but i may end up asking more detail on this many tks
Local car dealers use semi retired people to do pickups/drop offs etc - especially if you work for a premium brand you just taxi people round all day - except there’s no vomit, muggings and the cars are nicer-
Funny ive looked online at Jardine motors as i know they employ retired guys to do this. Love the idea of the freedom too
Some good ideas here guys will be storing this thread for the not to distant future!
