I've got a job interview on Wednesday for a customer adviser job. The job description makes it look like I'll demonstrating a product to customers and then taking their details to pass on to the sales team.

However, I've been told not to wear a suit to the interview because "we're not that kind of company."

Any ideas what I should wear?

Thanks!

Thanks!

From what I've seen online employees seem to wear a branded t shirt, polo shirt or hoody.

The interview's in a local hotel as the company's looking to open a premises in my area.

I'm thinking of going for a smart shirt, black jeans and dressy shoes.

Make it look like your preparing for the future by wearing a Hazmat suit.
No suits allowed...

Thanks for the suggestions!

A tracksuit’s still a suit right?

The 2 interviewers were also dressed in smart shirts with decent jeans so I fit in well.

It’s not a startup, but a multinational company looking to open a site in Belfast.

Think things went well, I’ll let you know.

Nice one, well done.

PS Are you located in NI yourself? Were the recruiters local?
Thanks! Yeah, I’m based here in NI. The 2 interviewers were from England.

Sounds like they want to see the real you and not some suited and booted version, first impressions can be misleading.

It also sounds like some crappy door to door sales gig.
Ha, no. There’s a sales element to it but it’s mostly product demonstration.
