I know thread's like this have been done a few times but hey one more shouldn't hurt.

I'm 18 and living in Coventry, I completed a BTEC national diploma in Motorsport engineering last July, and in September of last year I worked for a month with a race team called Speedsport Promotions, Primarily they ran in the Euro F3 series but ran with/under Team West-tec. I have worked on other vehicles such as Classic Formula Juniors, Formula Ford 1600's and I also have helped with the rebuilding of an 80's F1 car, thus most of my experience is with single seaters. Unfortunately due to the season coming to a close it wasn't a wise move (from their point of view) to employ another staff member.

So at current i'm ideally looking for a career in motorsport but I understand that experience is key.

Basically i'm looking for any teams that may be looking for a fairly competant and willing young guy to help out and to most of all learn.

Obviously the closer to Coventry the better as at current I don't have my own transport, I would relocate if needs be and I have family members in Somerset and Wiltshire if that helps?

Sorry for the long post and thanks in advance smile

Tom.

Pity you didn't post this a few months ago, JontyR was looking for a motorsports apprentice based in Wiltshire! I was looking at this a while ago myself, the common answer seemed to be, something like just heading down to a few tracks and offering free help to some teams, if they want you, they might request for you to appear at other circuits and possibly even pay you a bit here and there. It's all experience after all! Good luck mate
I did send him an email along with my CV but he didn't get back to me for whatever reason. But thanks anyway smile

Sorry I didnt get back to you...no excuse, but we had filled the position, but then was let down. Ive since given another PH'r the role, so sorry about that. I thought I had contacted everyone that had sent their CV to me.
No worries if it was an honest mistake i'll just keep looking, but thanks anyway.
