69 plate pre-reg competitions are now touching 45k for both coupe and convertible... how low will they go before there are none left ?

That means that right now there isn't much difference in buying a used 3 year old c63s amg convertible or a 'new' M4.

I’ve never beaten 6% with them on an AUC but times have changed perhaps.

Always just gone for say a personal loan instead at something like 3%.

£43k though for a brand new M4 Comp is amazing though you’re right.

Even 6% makes it much more appealing on a PCP. I would imagine you'll be able to bargain quite hard too there seems to be quite a few cars available and I can't imagine many people are buying atm.

This might not be pre-reg could be a ex demo - https://usedcars.bmw.co.uk/vehicle/202001045786832...

Anyone have any idea what difference a 6% APR would make to the monthlies on that £43k pre-reg car above? The example is based on 10.9%

Do you think there would be some bargaining to be done on the £43k asking?

Ball park over 48 months:

4% = £439
5% = £462
6% = £485
7% = £508
8% = £531
9% = £554

If you could get the credit at 6% APR then it would be a shade under £500/month with the same deposit they're suggesting so for example:

Deposit: £6,450
Final Payment £20,000
Finance amount: £16,550
Time Period: 48 month

APR differences:
10.9%: £610/month
6%: £490/month

If you plan to give it back without paying the final fee then it will cost you in total:

6% APR: £29,922, effectively £625/month
10.9% APR: £35,682 effectively £745/month

add £20k to those numbers to get the total cost to buy, so effectively £50k @ 6% or £55.7k @10.9%

If you have confidence in the market to recover (and your finances!) it's got to be a cash purchase at that price, run it for five years and that is one daft cheap sports saloon.

That would be a hell of a confident position to drop £40k cash on an M4 right now!

However the bottom end does seem to be holding up ok.

Reckon £40k cash would get it?

Say 5 years and 35k miles - worth £25k?

As you say, £15k for 5 years in an M4 is terribly cheap indeed.

no chance! GFV after 4 years is just under £20k, so after 5 you'll be closer to £15k

Absolute bargains but I think you's struggle to get it for £40k cash even in the current circumstance. They'll haggle like mad on a new order but every time I've tried to haggle on a second hand or pre reg screen price they've hardly budged.

Are there any m4s available at £20k at 5 years old?

I didn’t think they’d dropped that low.

There are certainly none at £15k

Exactly. I reckon you’d get £25k in 5 years for reasonable miles competition pack.

Therefore £15-18k for 5 years in an M4 remains very cheap.

All bets are off at the moment on future predictions! I think you could say if it was £25k retail you'd be looking at £20k trade however and as above, circa £23k for 5 years of BMW ///M driving is bloody cheap no matter which way you slice it.

You need to be cash rich and brave, but he who dares Rodders.

I agree

On an AUC, unless it's some weird colour combo or it's been welded to the showroom floor for months, the price is more-or-less the price.
