Why do people put "M" badges on non-M cars?

Indeed. Isn't it because BMW have stuck an M badge on virtually anything? Not sure most of these people think others will believe they actually drive an M3 etc.

Your car so your call of course, but personally when I see those stripes on a car on the road I never look at the car a 2nd time. It just makes me lose interest immediately like how seeing an ///M badge does that's been slapped onto say a 335i etc
