I can't argue with you regarding this either. Both the strut brace and the rear calipers are a big step back from the F8x cars I reckon as well.

I'd still love to own a G8x one day for sure, but I genuinely can't understand why the new generation car would go backwards in this regard though.
The carbon strut brace on the f8x isn’t as effective as the standard g8x one though but the CSL strut brace is very different to the stock one and looks to be cast aluminium and i much prefer the looks to it
The CSL brace is also hollow, strong but light. It’s easy to get hung up on the F8x carbon brace though ‘cause, well it’s carbon.
Yes and I'm sure that the F8x carbon brace probably does absolutely nothing, but I just love the way that it looks though. cool
I’ve no doubt it does something but it’s a nice bit of porn under the hood. I don’t get to see the wonderful engine in my GT4.
Early F8x cars had a carbon fibre prop shaft as well but that was dropped on later models.
Mine hasn't got the carbon fibre prop shaft on it because of the OPFs, so I just spend more time looking under the bonnet instead!

The strut brace I hadn’t really thought about; that doesn’t bother me especially on reflection but seems an odd direction unless the Fxx carbon really was flawed or taken as far as could be.

The 8 speed slush box is a negative for me; at least notionally. A twin clutch 8 speed DCT would have been awesome but they were never going to do for just this model. The regular auto might drive fine of course; I’ve not tried one; my reservations are notional, I just don’t like the idea of a car like this with a regular auto.

But the more I think on it, those rear calipers are horrible. I haven’t seen the set up in the flesh and it might not grate as much as the photos when I do see, but compared to the BBK hardware on my M2C I am going to have a real mental block in accepting this at the price point CCB ‘benefits’ or not.

Interest put forward by my AD as the car otherwise appeals but by no means unqualified.

I keep thinking about this too, and I do think that the DCT in the F8x cars does add some character to them, and I do wonder if the ZF8 auto has softened the G8x cars too much. I've not had a go in one yet to see though, but I'd definitely love to own a G82 M4 xDrive one day regardless anyway.

Rumour has it that no dealers are getting any and than all have already been allocated by BMW to YouTubers and influencers

This is from Misha Charoudin on his YouTube M3 touring video

Yes - just waiting to see what happens with a few personal items and then I'm good to go!

Looks like I missed out then.
I wonder what the criteria was to be successful.
I have bought many BMWs over the years and been pretty loyal, but that doesnt seem to count.
My purchases
640i
535d estate
420i gran coupe
3x 320d saloons
2x 330e saloons
330e Estate
E92 M3 Frozen silver edition 1/100
3 x IX3’s
Z3 convertible
X5 45e 2021
X2
So, 17 in total over about 10 years.

Only 1 M may well be the issue. I'd think previous CSL owners get first dibs, then whoever has the most M purchases. Probably only new count and not used. Just guessing.

I’ve managed to get one but still unsure if I want it. Have to decide by end of today if I’m going to take it.
