Mine had the coolant tank replaced last week with the revised part after it split - however there's been reports this doesn't resolve the issue.

The sensor is inside the tank. If you have a good relationship with the dealer you could just say you can smell coolant on occasion - it's not a big job for them to change the tank and it's a known issue so I'm surprised they didn't just approve a new tank to move you over to the revised version in the first place.

Mine had a one-off misfire the week before I noticed the tank was leaking. I mentioned this when the car was recovered but there's no note on the paperwork that the injectors etc were checked... will be extending the warranty incase.

Thanks - it’s going back in on Monday for some further checks.
Just to add further annoyance to the situation, I wasn’t informed that the tech discovered one of the rear diff seals is weeping oil and should be replaced - I told the service adviser about this when I received thier “health check” video. The service with this dealer hasn’t improved since my last poor experience with them with my previous 7 series…

Thanks the dealer assured me there’s no sign of any collabt leak around the tank or below and it’s been pressure tested but still threw up the error.
Is it worth pushing them to replace any sensors that might be acting up?
Yes that looks like it could be the problem.

I know some members mentioned this a while back but is anyone else having issues with insurance?

I paid £1k last year because I was going through a situation on another car so I just did this insurance with no NCB hence it being a bit high (would have been £700 ish with full 28 years NCB). Got my renewal NVB back and just received my notice which was £2700 so checked the usual comparison sites and the lowest I can get is £1850 with a £1500 excess and a little black box (I am in my 50's ffs) . Most of the others are £2200+

Makes me feel slightly better that it’s not just me. Wonder what’s going on?

Profit gain across the insurance industry is my guess because it’s happening across a range of other domestic ‘must have’ suppliers.

I get a 25% increase because the worlds gone crazy but 1-200% is just criminal!

My quote is £1000 without a black box ?

Morning all, looking at the collective experts on here to give some thoughts on the car below which I have on my shortlist of M5’s. Budget is up to £75,000 and there are a lot of options out there. Screen price just been dropped by £500 but I appreciate that’s pretty meaningless. Also not sure where I would pitch the price if I decide to go and negotiate ?Many thanks

Looks lovely, excellent spec (Bowers & Wilkins quite rare) and superb colour combo.

Lovely spec car in the best colour combination - I have a 2019 comp in virtually the same colour scheme.

For what it's worth I'd be offering something in the high 60's and see how you get on. There won't be too many buyers of these right now, and values are relatively weak. I periodically go online to get a few valuations on mine just out of interest, and there's been quite a dip since the summer.

I note on the AUC website you can get a 4 month younger car with half the mileage for the same price, or a six month older car again with much lower mileage for a grand less.

Quote things like increased insurance premiums and the newly released 5 series, and forthcoming new M5 / M5 Touring as reasons you need a good deal to part with cash now. It's a buyers market so hold your ground and good luck!

They are not selling. I have been looking to get one again - as i miss mine.

Give it eight weeks then make a cheeky offer just before Xmas. I echo it being possible to start with a "6"

Thanks everyone appreciate your replies and agree they are not selling and prices creeping down. In no rush and December would suit me anyway.

I'm a bit late to this but would say that's a high mileage for one of these as a used BMW dealer car. Most likely will need a new set of rear tyres quite soon as well.

I'd be looking at going in around 65k and leave it on the table as they will reject it outright initially. No harm popping back in after a couple of weeks with a slightly nudged up price if you are keen. It is without doubt the best colour combo. Also, are you looking to part ex as this often isn't helpful.

Let us know how you get on.
