The coupe is still to this day one of the stiffest body shells out there, almost on a par with the F50 no less! For that reason you have options with suspension tweeks that the car does need.

i love these figures, very impressive stuff for both cars imo..... BUT.... one thing i will say, as the roadster has a higher torsional rigidity figure than a lotus exige s1/s2/s3 (whens the last time you heard someone mention a sloppy exige?) i can assure you, its not being held back :-) Im one of the few that had my car from pretty much new 7.5 years ago and an extensive test back to back led to me the roadster for this very reason, it felt no different just had the extra element of the open top motoring, the z4 was always designed as a roadster which is very evident in how it performs, similar to the Boxster Spyder and cayman R, id 100% go for the Spyder, all the fun with that added element of being more connected to the outside world.Without wishing to flame fires that link z4mvsboxster is for the roadster version which has a slower steering rack and has around half the torsional rigidity of the coupe. This decision is definitely a choice of which you simply prefer, me I'm unashamed to say the roadster was and still is the choice for me :-) i purchased back in a time where the roadster was the more expensive car too ;-)

Me too. Love the look of the Coupe but never considered one as couldn't think why I would ever prefer being in a tin top. And with torsional rigidity in the Roadster greater than a Mclaren F1 - it's good enough for me. I'd really challenge anyone to really get worried about the lesser torsional rigidity of the Roadster over the Coupe... that looks gorgeous, but the roadster looks its best with the HT on or the roof off, roof off is definitely its best look and with a nice set of wheels, alittle lowering they look gorgeous.Anyway, mine's a keeper.

I bought my father's car from him last year, looking at prices they have either stayed the same or gone up in two years.
The coupe is definitely going to be worth more just on sheer numbers. Mine is a low miler (less than 30K currently), wondering whether I should keep it and see what happens or eventually get something else. I wasn't expecting it to feel as special as it does.
Let's face it, if you want a relatively modern 2-seater high-power NA car with a manual gearbox and rear wheel drive, your choices aren't huge. Lots of the "competition" are auto only, Porsches (which many people automatically dislike) or a little too left-field for many (TVRs).
The coupe is definitely going to be worth more just on sheer numbers. Mine is a low miler (less than 30K currently), wondering whether I should keep it and see what happens or eventually get something else. I wasn't expecting it to feel as special as it does.

yea i think the coupe will always command more but its nothing to do with numbers, both were very low volume as it was just too much money for such a small car, i think the coupes are always more desirable as they are just the better looking more pure shape/design. On a side note i think it will take the z4m a long time to be worth anything significant, that may not even happen tbh.The coupe is definitely going to be worth more just on sheer numbers. the z4m is so much a better car than the z3m was, i see no reason why it won't go the same way eventually.... hell their is barely 1000 z4ms made in rhd, quite a few have been bent too. Gassing Station | M Power | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
