Hi, Just wondered if you had found a suitable car? I have a Carbon Black Coupe, SMG Box, every option, very clean and original, I've fitted recent Conti Sports all round, rear springs and trailing arm bushes, and it's always been run on the right oil. I've owned it for around two years driven it for around 12k. I turned down £7750 back in summer because I thought i would use it more.... I haven't, it's sitting in my gararge! Car is in Bicester, Oxon. You're welcome to come and have a look. Russ

This may not be helpful but there are hundreds on autotrader.
Surely you can find one on there??!
I bought mine from a private seller on Auto Trader. Made all the classic mistakes. Bought the first one I saw, high-ish mileage, 7 pevious owners (although I didn't ask for this information at the time as it's not important to me), not mint but honest condition.Surely you can find one on there??!
The result? It's the best car I've ever owned. There's too many out there with suspiciously conservative mileage for my liking.
Go with your gut feeling, low mileage/1 owner examples aren't always the way to go with these.
Good luck with your search though.

This may come across as rude OP but I don't get it. There are hundreds to choose from. Why put up a wanted ad?
I understand if it's for a rare car like a zonda but why do you need a wanted ad for an e46?
Mine is now on 163 thou, 2 owners and still uses no oil / pulls like an express train. It recently " upheld honours " against 3 very quick, modified cars, a Saphire Cossie, an Integra Type R and an unbelevably quick 205 GTI.
If looked after / maintained correctly an M3 Will last !
Sadly many havnt. Just like 5 Turbos, 3 Litre Capris and E Types weren't . I would rather a very low owner / very high miles M3, rather than lots of previous owners. Perhaps I was just lucky with mine.
Gauge the owner / seller As well as the car.

Thread resurrection to inform any potential E46 M3 buyers that there are a couple of minters at 4Star Classics at present. One of them is my old car and I'm the only owner outside BMW. It's in great shape and the boot floor has been checked + resin reinforced with no signs of cracks/corrosion.
I have no vested interest in this as 4Star actually bought the car from me but I do know there are a lot of dodgy E46M's out there. This is one of the good ones.
