The M Sport badge invasion
Discussion
I don't actually own an M, but it still offends me seeing fake m badges everywhere.
I think I've changed my mind though, BMW should give out M badges to all owners (in the post/next service)
Obviously this will add an extra +5bhp.
I am going to stick mine on the end of my todger, so I can be more desirable and get admiring glances.
The extra thrust of sticking an M badge on will help too!
Also I will consider a 12 inch ruler tattoo down my leg (not to scale), as I also like boasting about something I don't have in that area too 😉
Now we can all de-value the m brand.....
Trying to understand the mentality of why people would actively stick an m badge on, this hasn't fundamentally been answered (i.e. Not due to BMW UK)

Obviously because they think it makes their car look nicer and they don't care what you or I think about it. Can we leave it at that?Just makes me laugh. Spotted the one below which had me in stitches for obvious reasons. Also spotted a regular F10 Saloon at my gym a few weeks back that had an M5 badge on its rump. Was mildly annoyed as i was in the wife's Mini as had i been in my M5 i'd have been certain to park next to the imposter.

Although i see your point to a point, it's not only BMW. Audi have done similar for a long time with the S-Line which is basically the same format as M-Sport. Pretty sure Merc do it with AMG as have seen 'Sport' models with AMG badges & AMG wheels, however i'm not sure if this is a dealer or Mfctr add-on.I think I've changed my mind though, BMW should give out M badges to all owners (in the post/next service)

I'm pretty sure that BMW from the factory only apply a small M badge on the front wings of M-Sport models, in the same way Audi apply S-Line badges to the rear doors of S-Line models. Actual M's have their badges on the boot/trunk as well as the side wheel arch grilles & more recently on the front grille. Same again applies to Audi S's & RS's. Audi however have their S Range which sits between S-Line & RS so surely that's a further dilution so perhaps the Audi S is like the BMW *M.

I also try and do that when I see a fake M car Or if I see one on the road then I make sure they hear my engine

Saw a current shape M5 t'other day with no M badge, respect to that man!
TX.
Mine is debadged though still carries the small M5 badges on the grille and side vents - I'd debadge any car / any model just because I think they are unnecessary and think any car looks cleaner without them. Other peoples' perception is the least of my concerns.TX.
