Maybe the dealers are hoping the 30 Jahre examples will be picked up by collectors as future Investments. I really don't see why you would pay a £30k premium for a daily driver.
I've been looking around for something to replace mine (I need 5 seats) and there is nothing that even slightly interests me. Thought about splitting it and having a boring, sensible car and something fun and fast but the M5 fulfils that role as well.

I'm doing the same piling the miles on,11.5k in 4 months and I don't care.
The Jahre are lovely they have one at my dealer but the prices are daft (I have no idea who would pay that sort of money) they haven't even got ceramics or the full M performance exhaust on them yet they are all up for 90-110k used!
I'd be looking at a new M6GC with CP pack as that has the same power and I reckon you could spec ceramics and MP exhaust for the same price as a used jahre.

Yep, totally agree. It's a keeper. As long as I can keep the man maths calculator firmly locked away, I will keep mine for a few more years.

My shortlist for the moment for November change is:
997 gen 2 Turbo S - not sure as really want the 991. 997 is looking a bit dated. Amazing power though.
Maserati Granturismo - gorgeous sound, heritage, good rear seats, stunning looks, average performance
M6 GC - has everything but it will be my fourth BMW on the trot (noticed they are selling new ones at £71K in classifieds .. more than the usual 20% off list).
Need at least small seats in the back.
Go for the 997.2 turbo S, after 10 years and 4 M cars (E39 x2, E60 and E63) that's what I did. Absolutely brilliant and in my eyes at least still looks very fresh.My shortlist for the moment for November change is:

Thanks doc .. I think I will go for the 997.2 Turbo S, 991 Turbos are still at £110K (they don't seem to depreciate like normal cars in percentage terms) which is a bit rich for me. May be by November they will be under £100K which may swing it.Not sure when I will move on but M6GC top of the list for next car at the moment!
