This was a potential replacement for my M2 Comp but not if that picture is real - looks bloody awful. The current M240i looks better than this abomination!

I have a conspiracy theory that BMW have designed this last generation of combustion engined cars badly on purpose to ease the transition into the EV future. If they'd made beautiful cars, people would be clinging on to them for dear life and refusing to trade them in for a new EV, so they made them so fugly that nobody could possibly love them. Next gen EV cars will be stunners and people will jump at the chance to get rid of these pigs

It's the only logical reason I can think of for this generation of cars being so hideous

I don’t see a comp badge on it so hopefully the comp trim will make it look better as i suspect like the rest of the M models we will only get Comps in the UK.

It’s a good theory, however their new ev’s have been pretty awful too, just look at the IX

Doesn't look anywhere near special enough the the rear bumper is dreadful.

This isn’t 2015 this will be £60-65k starting, other regions might get a £55k M2 but i think we will only get M2 comps in the UK.

It doesn't look right at all. The car is too high and the wheels don't fit the arches like they do on the previous M2.

The front and rear bumpers are awful. The final version of the car can't look like that.

At least they are helping the residual values for anyone who owns a current M2.

It really looks like a terrible body kit from a Max Power show car.

BMW continuing to destroy their heritage one abomination at a time.

When the new M3/M4 was released - the only thing I didn't like was the front grill but having seen the cars in person the grill looks ok in the darker colours. The only thing I like about the new M2 are the wheels - the rest of the car looks awful . Now looking at other cars to replace my M2 Comp.

That’s truly hideous.

I hate the beaver teeth grilles on the 4 series but they’ve managed to come up with a worse design. Jesus wept.

The back end is horrendous. It’s a mess.

The last 2 series was an awkward looking little thing but was rescued when the M treatment. The new 2 series is again awkward and ungainly but this time around, the M treatment has fked it up royally. Awful.

+1. I can tolerate the front and sides, but the rear looks like a home moulded fibreglass effort, bulked out with some sanded smooth expanding foam.

The colour certainly doesn't help, but even so that doesn't look great from the pics though. Maybe it will look better in the metal and in a darker colour.

I really hope this is a hoax.

Could be a smart ploy by bmw prior to the official release.

As if everyone doesn't think their cars are ugly enough as it is?
