They also allow you to build NCB quicker by using 10 months policies and then giving you a years NCB. THis can also be transferred to other insurers.
Be careful mate. Check the terms and conditions. The bonus accelerators usually only apply when you remain with the same insurer.

Why would another insurer allow two years NCB off their policy when you might only have been driving 20 months with no claims??

I'd seriously check this, mate.

With Admiral it's fine. They issue a standard NCB entitlement certificate.

I'm sure they do.

But do the subsequent insurers honour it when they find out?

By that rationale, if Direct Line start issuing NCB accelerated to six months for a full year, after one year would you be entitled to go to Privilege and claim you have two years no claims?

No mate.

I've never heard of any issues with Admiral's NCB! It has been discussed on here quite a few times and no one in my memory has reported a problem.

Easiest way to close this debate - someone phone directline up (or any other mainstream provider) and ask if they would accept it !!

They possibly might do as they're the same company, different brand, last time I worked for them wink.

Pedant moment over....

BTW - did I mention that you should stop worrying about insurance and buy the car?

For some reason on a 996tt/996 GT2 it's £1850, but on a E46 M3/ Z4M it's £4k.

Insurance is mad, I got a good deal through endsliegh, finally paying sub £800 for first time, but have 10 years noclaims to thank for that.

Ironically the insurance is with Norwich Union, who laughed at me when i went direct, go figure.

It's funny that you mention that as i've just got around to re-newing the insurance on the M3 as it had lapsed due to a huge c*ck up on behalf of Barclaycard. So i had to go through the system as a new customer with the same policy number which resulted in a quote of £1,900 at the tender age of 29 so, naturally i told them to shove it. A quick check on line with that confused.com and the cheepest quote worked out to be £935 with the same company !!!

I really cant work that one out confused

Not that i'm complaining much hehe

Got mine on the M3 through Bell who are a division of Admiral. They specialise in low no-claims too (I only had one year).

I paid £200 quid less than my original quote through moneysupermarket.com too.

So its costing you £1.2k extra per year....why not buy one with higher mileage or slightly older and save yourself some money which you can put towards the insurance ?

To be honest, if you cannot afford one due to the extra grand it may not be the best car for you - things can and do go wrong with cars so you should always have enough in reserve to be able to pay for repairs.

Otherwise you'll spend all your time driving paranoid that something may happen which you won't be able to fix which will completely destroy your enjoyment of the car.

IMHO.

seconded yes

Not to put the frighteners on anyone, but my 30k mile E36 Evo has just presented me with a £2k+ bill... and not a VANOS bolt in sight either.

These cars are very expensive to run. I always laugh when someone suggests £1500 a year max to run a ~10y/o ///M car...

I have to admit I'm not sure why there should be such an insurance cost difference between a S3 and a M3. I had a E46 M3 and I think I recall rightly when I say I was paying £1,200 to insure it.

I can confirm they do. For me I went 2 years with Elephant who run a similar scheme (I think they are in cahoots with Admiral) I moved to Kwik Fit Insurance and they have granted me my 2 yars NCB.

You know I believe it is because it is rear wheel drive. My younger cousin had hassles insuring his BMW and was advised it was because it was RWD (this is second hand news from him - but I dont think he was lying)
