E39 M5 losing power at ~5000rpm
Discussion
Bit of a cheeky post, I changed my MAF sensors recently (just as a preventitive measure) but noticed no difference in performance (when using "test 4" on the high OBC the fuel results were also the same) leading me to the conclusion there was nothing wrong with the old MAFs anyway. I've decided to keep the new ones, but have put the old ones on ebay, the auction ends tonight and they're currently at only £50 for the pair and are known good... could be a cheaper way to rule that out than getting parts from the dealer.

With labour that would have not been far shy of £1000 and problem wouldn't have been fixed!! Cowboys...

Hamish,Abbreviated (and with a bit of poetic license) the above named outfit reads: BAW's. Need I say any more?
Anyway, I'm glad you've resolved the issue. In future, why not give the ///M specialists I use a ring? JD Motors in Insch are spot on.
Oh and I might be after an E39 M5. Will you be bringing yours along to the 'smokey run so I can have a gander?
