I thought the rec'd pressure is 42 rear 36 front
[/quote]
The only tyre pressure levels I can find in the BMW bumf is for the 18" rims which is 230 KPA front/240 KPA rear based on light loading. This conversts to the current PSI numbers I'm using however I can't find anything specific to 19" rims and tyres.
Well the ones I'm using don't seem to be doing the job so.... 36 PSI alround it is! If you see a new posting for "E92 M3 in hedge" you know it don't go too well.
Have you left everything standard on the car or tweaked a few bits?
Cheers for the info.

Page 197 from english version of E92 M3 Manual
Tyre pressure for 19" but there is a typing error for rear you should read 265 instead of 245
You can download the pdf file from www.m3post.com

Thanks for the info but there's nothing page 197 of my manual regarding tyres. This page refers to jump leads, warning triangles etc. Pages 178 and 179 refer to tyres but there's nothing which specifies actual tyre pressures at all. The only thing it says is to look at the label on the chasis near the drivers seat. The label is really useful (not) as it doesn't mention any 19" tyre sizes or pressures at all.
Do I need to sign up to download the pdf file from m3post.com?
Thanks,

I do not think you need to register for this link

You can download the pdf 2008 version of the US manual.
Hope it works
Otherwise it is in the maintenance chapter of the forum at the subforum: manual, brochures,...

Thanks again Bher, signed up anyway and have been reading the US spec manual. It's interesting how three or four pages are not in the version I have and they ommited it from the chasis sticker. I would consider tyre pressures on a rear wheel drive performance car very important. I can't believe they've messed up the US manual and not bothered at all for the one I have. http://www.m3post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1064...

ETA: the last sentence was definitely a "Victor Meldrew" moment....

GoM, My pleisure.
Regarding Victor Meldrew joke and being french speaker I did not know if it was your last sentence or mine (I had trouble with mine while typing). So I goggled Meldrew and found on the web site of the BBC a very nice definition that made me laugh a lot! Thanks for that and it was YOUR sentence....

On driver side B post. Black sticker. Dealers will pump up to this.
2.7 bar front (19") = 40 psi - front
3.0 bar front (19") = 45 psi - rear
This is the setting if you carry passengers.
This was the first place I looked but there's squat on there for the 19" tyres on mine. What does it say if you are "billy no mates" and don't carry many passengers? According to the US manual it's 33 front and 35 rear, does anyone/everyone agree?2.7 bar front (19") = 40 psi - front
3.0 bar front (19") = 45 psi - rear
This is the setting if you carry passengers.
God, the only thing slower than my brain at the moment is the iDrive....

If you have the black sticker, just read it right
My iDrive is superb?

I'm off to buy me some of those new fangled spectecals...
The iDrive is pretty slow and I can park my car before the PDC sensors have woken up - slick it ain't.

I like all the iDrives. The one in my E92 M3 is the fastest of all of them and works perfectly. Perhaps yours needs a patch? :dunno:
Sorry, but I think it is the worst of the many nav systems which I have had, and not a patch on £100 worth of Tomtom, let alone for example touch screen systems in Jag, Land Rover and Lexus.Entering an address is laborious - selecting the letters by scrolling the whole way through the alphabet
Does not accept full post codes (still not in the latest idrive 2)
If you have navigated away from the map, it can take several movements of the controller to get back to it (many systems have a single push map key)
Has a massive screen, but you cannot use it all for the map to make it easier for middle-aged eyes to read street names (now improved on idrive 2)
Slow to respond after each entry
Awkward to learn, because you have to work out when to pull/push the controller, and when to turn, to move through selections
I am not saying this is a really big deal - after all I bought an M3 in spite of loathing idrive - but I am genuinely surprised that some people think it is a good system.
I want to see the new version, but my dealer did not have a working one in the showroom when I went to look!

Agreed the full postcode search doesn't work, that is not good enough, but I can not even look at the screen now and get to exactly where I want by pushing the controller in the direction I need. I have also speed assigned the buttons to select my ipod, radio 4, the wife's mobile and home and work in the satnav.
Mine is fast!
