Yeah I'm a big fan of the wheels but I appreciate a lot of buyers will want the 20's. I'm getting old...
I’ve the 20” style as 19” on my 535d as it’s not model specific. The ones you have only he M5 comes with them and they do have some sort of link to the E39
I do like the 20's on the M5 myself. I'm just no a fan of diamond cut rims after having corrosion/white worm on every set I've ever owned and they can only be re-cut once.
They are teh more desirable when selling though. I didn't have any choice in the matter with mine though as I'm the second owner haha
I know what you mean about Diamond cut rims
My M5 went and now my 18 month old X5 20” 50D wheels have gone.
I see a fight with the dealer approaching shortly!
"You have kerbed them"
"You have used aggressive wheel cleaner"
"That is classed as acceptable wear and tear"
That's the usual chat from the stealers I've complained to

So I’ve the 19” standard summer and winter alloys. I’m tempted by the 20” summers but new they’re daft price. Few on used sale and likely unable to inspect before purchase. There are a few replica companies/distributors... e.g. http://www.bmautosport.co.uk/showroom/product_info...
Given I’d only have them on in summer... new OEM at 3800 sans tyres, chance Ebays at 2-3k if any appear, or non OEM?
Suggestions....
(Edit) the OEM 19” are a real pain to clean......

What about 19” versions same style as he 20” - will be far more available and frankly could you spot the difference really?Given I’d only have them on in summer... new OEM at 3800 sans tyres, chance Ebays at 2-3k if any appear, or non OEM?

Looking forward to getting the summers back on though.
As an aside, the larger forged wheels are definitely lighter than the smaller cast ones.

For those who have sold up recently; how close did you get to the asking price? How much did you sell for?
The 130,000 mile F10 M5 now £20.4k has been up for sale for 4 months and counting with its price moving down and up yet no takers. It's not a cheap car to run anyway (servicing, tyres, fuel, £520 VED etc..) and the cost of a major mechanical failure could be very significant. For £10k more you can get an approved used vehicle, with 50k miles and the potential for a 2 year warranty.
Most people who could afford the £20k one could also stretch to the £30k one. So the seller needs to wait for someone who likes a gamble.

Last I looked there were 170 odd f10 m5s for sale and a fair few around mid 20's private. They seem to hang about for ages too. That 130k one is way too expensive. Mid teens would be more appropriate I'd have thought.
Doesn’t this say / indicate to owners ALWAYS PCP high value vehicles as the used market simply doesn’t exist to private buyers - or if it does they are a tiny number. Welshbeef said:

When my car sells it will likely be bought by the motor trade
Lord T I'd love to know what your car does actually sell at if bought by the trade. I'm working in a way to connect one owner car sellers with buyers and bypass the trade altogether, but it's not ready yet. I think the dealer margin between trade in forecourt is obscene and needs eating into esp where we have private supplies into the trade only for the same car to be bought out of the trade privately. Much better to connect the two directly and bypass the dealer. I had not considered that dealers would source cars by buying from private sellers.

Hmmm not sure what it will go for. I'd imagine 25ishI've had little interest on PH so I'll probably stick it on AT towards the weekend.
I'll let you know when it sells - but it might be a while

I’m not fully in a position to answer this, as my car isn’t sold. However...7 months ago I ordered a new Mercedes E63s, with a written agreement that it would be delivered on March 1st 2018. I never p/x cars and always sell privately.
I listed my M5 a few weeks prior to 1st March at the top price as recommend by https://hpivaluations.com (£36k iirc).
I then dropped the price by £500-750ish with every passing week. Each time I dropped the price I received emails roughly along the lines of:
“Alright mate, you got a lovely motor there. What’s your lowest price?? I got the cash ready!!” Total time wasters.
Worse still are the morons who don’t read the ad (where the full spec is clearly listed) and drip drip drip questions about the spec, trying to find an option which isn’t on your car and then use this as a bargaining chip. “Oh the levitating feature isn’t on your car? I really wanted that option. Can you knock £5k off the price?”
The beast from the east then hit and I had zero interest in my car. No emails, no phone calls. 550bhp + rwd + snow obviously isn’t a good mix.
The price at which my car - 2014 plate, 39,500 miles - received most legitimate interest was £34,000
I had a buyer lined up who came to test the car but I had to pull out when the Mercedes dealer contacted me to state that there could be a 12 week delay on my E63s due to Mercedes ‘quality checks’. The buyer was very understanding and went on to buy another car.
Mercedes then updated me that my car had been built and could be available for delivery in a couple of weeks. I then began drastically reducing the price of the car and had another buyer lined up at £32,500. He then had to pull out when the only finance he could get accepted was at 24%.
I believe my car is one of the best on the market (full warranty, service pack, new tyres and brakes, excellent condition etc) and by this point I was starting to feel that I was letting the car go for too little. When Mercedes contacted me to say that my car was again delayed they helped make the decision for me and I pulled the plug and decided to keep my M5.
I’ve kept the Autotrader listing live but pushed the price back up to £34k. Ironically I again received more enquiries at this higher price.

Have you had the WBAC quote? That’s clearly the floor price - but as you’ve literally only bought it yourself (unless you bought it notably under the previous asking price the fact it’s got 1 extra owner decreases value plus the offloading it so quickly to Joe Public will really make you think hmm does this have an intermittent fault?/it would put some off). I've had little interest on PH so I'll probably stick it on AT towards the weekend.

My problem is having too many cars (this is no 5) and always swapping and changing.
I have a car related buisness and temptation is always strong.
Nothing wrong with the car other than it not having split fold rear seats. It's been under a service pack and I'm about to put a BMW warranty on it (If it doesn't sell and I end up keeping it)
It's still a two owner car (1 prev) so unusual to have so low (many on AT are 5+)
I think at 25k I'd sell
Unrelated to the end comments on this thread, but review related.
Did / has anyone else found reverse on any sort of incline, either up or down hill almost impossible to do smoothly?
Is there any trick as I always seem to spin the wheels on anything other than a bone dry sun baked service!

My June 15 LCI car with 26k miles was traded in Feb and I received the £36.5k required to clear the remaining finance on the car. Car was good spec, dealer knew me, tyres and brakes had been done within the last 4k of ownership.
It immediately went up on their site for just under 40k and was gone within a week.
Cheers
Steve
