Wow. Looking through this thread and reminds me why I never go to BMW gatherings. I would never want my M3 being investigated, or personally slated. I got it for the looks, the enjoyment, the whole package.

As you guys love going into details about owners, prices etc...I'd like to say I have never felt some uncomfortable in a car group.

Looking at e30 m3 threads on facebook for example there are bitter grown men who are upset about prices. (Some being very racist and opinionated)

You guys have lost a lot of respect from a fellow m3 owner.

Taken the fun out of the ownership.

Bring the class back and some of us might join you.

Dreading the day I have to sell mine. Its the owners who think they are helping the community but will make it very difficult to sell.

Absolutely there is more to this world, however this is a) a car forum and b) a thread specifically about E30 M3 and their value / prices. That said, it's also nothing more than individuals opinions, much like a big part of the internet.

I'm unsure what opinions there are here about individuals though?

Not sure where the "personally slated" is coming from, but cars discussed here are typically up for sale. If you're selling a car you should expect it to be under scrutiny.

I'm a prospective owner, rather than an owner. I ran an E28 M5 for over 100,000 miles in the 90's and as you can imagine I now rather regret selling it smile

Most importantly, continue enjoying your car!

I'm not sure quite what your problem is with the thread or discussing cars and their value, especially when you start dragging FaceBook into it with racism. I don't use FB , so not sure what goes on there and not sure why it's being used to taint here.

Selling an M3 is not always done by friendly honest people, some of the cars for sale are dogs being sold with misleading adverts bordering on the criminal in some cases.
I don't think anyone here is obsessed with the value of their car, if anything quite the opposite, as the value has turned most of them into garage queens, which most seem to think is a bad thing.

I guess given their values now, it is inevitable values will be discussed and cars judged, but then maybe if you were looking to buy one you'd be of a different opinion on this ?
Why is it you think your car will be slated and be made harder to sell by this ?

Why do I imagine you'll be the type to have a old pooper, rusty, partial or limited history and that you want £75K for laugh

Couldnt agree more with this, a lot of people on this thread think they are above others because they own an M3, and like to talk down on others cars and prices.

Do people not understand that each car they are slating because of the price is helping push their cars price up?

I know alot of people in the classic car game and to them an E30 M3 is nothing, so next time you are thinking you are above other people because you have an M3 just remember that to alot of people out there they mean nothing, i think a few people on here (not mentioning names) should take a step back and be abit more humble about what they have smile

rofl

We're all grown ups here. Rather than hint at individuals, why not simply politely name them?

As for E30 M3 being nothing to a lot of people in the classic car game? Sorry but that's nonsense.

So when I say a car that I think 99.9% of people would value at £35-50k is vastly overpriced at £150k , I'm actually trying to push the price of my M3 up ? How does that work ?

Your other comments read as rather bitter.

I know plenty of people in the ‘classic car game’ who have an e30 M3. Not sure what your point is there?

As per advert :

"1st reg uk, 23/4/1991. Was a well-known celebrity"

I think Chris Harris was 16 years old by my calculations...

There’s a lot of members on here who have owned their e30 m3 here for a very long time and some who have gone through a good few of them. Most of them on here do know what they are talking about. They have been following the prices for a very long time and some of them know the cars and give the heads up if there’s something wrong with it. If you don’t like it on here then jog on.

The advert is a bit cackly written tbf.

Assuming they mean first owner was well known. How many well known people in '91 would have bought a E30M3? And not a 911?

I don't even know any particularly famous previous owners. Terry Rymer (motorcyclist) had one or 2 I think. Jay Kay had one, but I think he sold it, once he'd scratched the itch (which seems to be what he does)
