Took mine apart at 123k miles.
The only items worn out of tolerance were the exhaust valve guides.
They used to design and build these engines very well imo.
Don't know about the S14, but the M88 in my E28 M5 was up to about 160K before I parted company with it. Timing chain failure at around 90K miles notwithstanding, which required some new valves....The only items worn out of tolerance were the exhaust valve guides.

Agree, I put roughly 70k on my first one, once warmed up not many of them gentle. The next owner took it well past 100k in the same manner and it's still going well and never been apart.
My current one is past 100k too, it has been apart but that was purely down to oil starvation from a low level on track with the previous owner.
I imagine there are plenty out there like that, these really are great engines and let's face it, not many are nannied.

I know the Europameister well, it is stunning in the flesh and the seller is as honest as they get, it has done hardly any miles in the last few years, the enjoyment has been improving it for him. It has to be one of the best and it has had a huge amount spent on it.
It does look good, and a lot less unpalatable at that price. But it's difficult to take an ad seriously that says "No stupid offers!" when it's started life with an obviously stupid asking price....Early AK05 £42,500...
