Interested to see how residuals will hold for the M2 CS.
If the M3/M4 CS is anything to go by maybe will follow the same path....
M3CS seems to be stuck at £60-70k though, don't think I've ever seen one below that?If the M3/M4 CS is anything to go by maybe will follow the same path....

Will be interesting what happens given the current situation in the coming weeks. M3 CS is about to creep under £60k...
A bit off topic I was planning on jumping into an M2 Comp just before all the Cornavirus mess kicked off. Since then and looking at buying privately I’ve stumbled across the M3 CS and think after a bit of haggling it might be the better choice. I wouldn’t say they look good value but for the same price as spec’d M2 Comp..... worth considering. Let’s see.

They do look very under wheeled. There is far too much metal in the arch area making the wheels look tiny - though I suspect they are not - don't the CCb's need a min 20 inch wheel?
19” for CCB’s but my front barrels are gouged to hell from the lack of clearance. Quite annoying for a stock set up darreni said:

They come with chocks in the suspension to stop them bouncing on the transporters, these aren’t removed until PDI is done so there’s a good chance they’re sitting artificially high.LotusJas said:
This car will drop like a stone, even without covid. Now it's fate is sadly assured.
There is no comparison to M1, as that was a unique car. This is a variant of a mass produced M2, albeit a very good variant of an excellent car.
I agree in terms of that this is not a stand-alone model but to say it's a 'variation' of the M2 Comp is a bit of a push. There's several elements that cannot be retrofitted to an M2C. There is no comparison to M1, as that was a unique car. This is a variant of a mass produced M2, albeit a very good variant of an excellent car.
It's the only version of this M2 that will ever be produced with adaptive suspension, has a unique interior, unique exhaust system and +35bhp from factory. Also, to spec a CF roof on an M2C is not only a huge expense but has to be done at a dealer and it's an incredibly difficult job.
If you were to purchase a new M2C and spec all the exterior OEM mods (front splitter/spoiler/bonnet/roof/diffuser/wheels/mirrors/exhaust), you'd easily get to the base price of the CS. Then you'd have to get a non-OEM engine tune (warranty void) and still not have the adaptive suspension, centre console and exclusivity of the CS.
I agree it will depreciate but I think it's certainly the most desirable M Car we've seen in a while.... but then again, I have ordered one so I would say that

I’m sure you mean a 1M ? The E46 M3 CSL was a variant of a mass produced car and that is probably one of the best M cars ever made , but you may be right it certainly is going to be a tough year for the car market. I suspect there’ll be a few buyers of these who would be hoping to flip for a profit.
I reckon that might be a bit difficult now - by the time these get delivered the economy will be completely on its arse and no one will be thinking of buying a stupidly priced 2 series.
I think tucking it away in a garage (or actually driving it!) might be a better option.
I honestly can’t see these now holding their value in the short to medium term, no matter how ‘special’ they are over a standard M2C.
