Milltek have completed their development of an equal length exhaust.
There’s a short video on their FB page.

I get the car back on Friday so will update as to how it sounds on a drive.

The whole idea of going this route was to have a 'no need to tinker' fun alternative for my Chim while it's having a body off chassis sorting session; can see that's working well and I haven't even found a car yet! laugh

How did you get on with the new Milltek exhaust - sounds very good based on the video on their FB page!

It’s made a massive difference - it sounds much better.
It’s only 1db louder than the Milltek race system I already had (which wasn’t massively louder than stock) but the whole tone has changed for the better.
Today I had it in Sport+ and auto and when I pulled away there was a lot of rasp in the first two gears.
Not sure if everyone will like that, but I don’t mind it.

Changing with the paddles though seemed to eradicate the rasp.
Cold start in Sport + is pretty impressive if you don’t have neighbours and an early morning start!

Driving in efficient mode it’s absolutely as quiet as stock - at 70/80 mph no issues at all.
No resonance or drone at any speed in any driving mode.
Normal driving in efficient opens the valves at 4K revs and again it sounds brilliant.

I don’t know what the cost will be, but in all honesty if anyone was thinking of buying an exhaust anyway and wants to keep the opf’s in place, then they may as well buy one of these.

I’ll caveat that I have absolutely no connection with Milltek, other than I approached them to try the equal length pipe and they agreed to give it a go with my car.

Thanks very much for the information! Could I just ask is this system just an OPF Back system? Do they alter anything else with the current exhaust system. I was looking at the Remus OPF Back system but now hearing how the new Milltek system sounds I think I may go for this!

This system will be compatible with the Milltek down pipes and OPF replacement pipes.
I also think the equal length pipes will be available as an add on if anyone has the existing Milltek system already.

I’ve heard a few reports of the Remus triggering cel lights due to differing back pressure through the OPF’s.

My Milltek sounded like that - it was really just a louder version than the Oe exhaust.
The equal length gives it back a 6 cylinder sound, not just louder.

Cheers, might give my local Milltek dealer a ring in the next few weeks and see what this system is all about!

Not a lot of silencing in that pipework... must be fruity with no cats or PFs!

On a different note, can anyone confirm whether the UK bundled sat nav has wider European coverage? Well France specifically...

It’s just the centre resonance taken out, plus the extra loop of pipe added to make the sides equal.
Still got all factory filters and cats.

Can’t help with the mapping though... smile

Should do. My F80 did.

Just picked up my '19 M2c from the nice people at Sytner Chigwell. I can't say i've explored it's limits while trundling home along the north circular, but i can confirm that it feels way faster than the F10 M5 i traded in (though i suspect its not), and the manual gearbox is just as lovely as it was on my first proper car (e46 M3).

all in all, i'm very much looking forward to the rally i'm doing to the Monaco Historic in May

it was....drove the same car that BMW Park Lane had the previous week (the ex demo, DCG with about 500 miles on the clock) but seemed the guy wasnt talking sh*t when he said "there's been a lot of interest in this car"

Anyway, Chigwell gave me a great trade in price on my M5, so very pleased all-in-all

Picked my M2 up from Dick Lovett in Bath. Obviously I cannot rev it too much but what a car, so pleased I went with this over the other choices.

My M2C gets delivered a week on Thursday, what’s the deal with running in? Obviously I’m aware of the service but is there any official do’s and dont’s for the running in period?

Don't thrash it, vary your driving style and keep it below 5000rpm for the first 1200 miles.
