Surely if we can get 3 people the cost would come down further?
I'm only on 2500 miles so not sure it would be advised yet?
It would be a 700+ mile round trip for me so I would prefer the car to be done here...
I'd be fairly confident Rob/Tony would accommodate a group buy. Drop me a line if this is likely & i'll see what i can do. I organised a group buy with DMS for B7 RS4's a few years ago.I'm only on 2500 miles so not sure it would be advised yet?

I'm def wanting it done and am
Ready anytime really, but i guess it's pretty pointless until at least Spring.
So who else is up for this????

Clutches will start to slip eventually in the US they replace them with uprated clutch packs.
It's been said the DCT box has a safe operating limit of 700nm (hence the Jahre 30 goes no higher) but who knows.
They're running considerably more power/torque though. Many are North of 800bhp & 800lbsft at the crank. I'd say 750/700 is a very safe limit but much above that (certainly the torque) & you're going to be putting the clutches under some strain which is why both Evolve & DMS hang around at these levels for their Stage 2 tunes. It's been said the DCT box has a safe operating limit of 700nm (hence the Jahre 30 goes no higher) but who knows.
Isn't 700nm the stock torque output? Do you mean 700lbsft?

But they are running huge power/torque in the states as you say with seemingly no issues apart from uprating the clutches and the car runs 680nm standard so it does seem low.
Personally I'd be willing to pay for a Jahre 30 tune if the dealer offered it as a MPPK.

The DCT has a 700nm torque capacity according to BMW.

I'd take that aspect of that article with a pinch of salt (their performance stats are incorrect too) as not a chance any manufacturer would produce a transmission that in a production car is within 20nm of it's torque capacity. The tolerance would be considerably higher as stock cars are outputting more power & torque than BMW state. I can only speak from personal experience but even at 950nm the car's not breaking a sweat.http://f10.m5post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=6381...

No idea, like I said there doesn't appear to an issue but the guy interviewed works for BMW in senior position and the same data is shown on Getrag's website.
Probably a Senior Person in Accounts. Even the big power boys in the US feel they're not pushing the limits of the transmission, only the clutches so i think that BMW person may have been a little off the mark.If their was say 100nm between stock output & the perceived limit than that would make some sense, but 900nm plus is present in plenty of F10 M5's with no issue iv'e heard about regarding the DCT protesting, just clutches on the big power builds. The tolerances most mfctrs build into performance cars nowadays is at silly levels & that applies to many cars in this market. The C6 RS6 (not got a great gearbox) has many well over 1000nm with no issues & the C7 with a ZF box is also over the 1000nm mark. For whatever reason DMS & Evolve have chosen to cap their tunes down to 900-950nm so i'd guess they feel that's a safe level & aiming for the magic 1000 may start to hinder longevity.

Sorry, I didn't speak about the group buy just about the stage 2 remap.
Yeah I thought that, but I pressume you asked for a decent price regardless? Can we get 3 for £6k or is that pushing it
If your definitely game then that should already be 3 of us...
Maybe Paul can work his magic

I'm in Shropshire with an M5... not sure about S2 but I'd contemplate an intermediate map if it were possible. I appreciate they may wish to stick to the same though.
I didn't ask about a Stage 1 price but I'm sure their wouldn't be a problem adding you to the group buy, naturally at a lower cost. If you want me to ask, see detail above?W8PMC said:
