Did he contact Mobile Tradition? They should be able to tell exactly what it is, or is not.
Should have production date of between October and November 1988.
If the car was imported By Munich Legends then a UK dealer will have not details on the car as it's not gone through BMW GB, only people to help there would be Mobile Tradition in Germany.
why bother - it's not a sought after modelShould have production date of between October and November 1988.

Nerv - I'd open a discussion with him but be mindful that if you can be bothered to wait a month or three you'll get it for a better price

all power to him I reckon, if he can get that kind of money for it then he should, but my thinking is he'll struggle.
lets hope he doesnt mind a bit of plain, open discussion.

"Hello, yeah, Nervy here. Your car is nice but it's only worth £9k."
"Price is firm, sorry."
"Cash or bank draft? Can I come and get it now. Is now good?"

Maybe not at the moment, but 4-5 years ago Evo II were not sought after either, currently values for anything clean, tidy and straight are going only one way, but £ 15,500 is strong money, stronger still if it's not a Europameister.fyi:
'What distinguishes an E30 M3 Europameister?
BMW decided to celebrate the dominance of the E30 M3 in the 1988 Touring Car season with a limited run of 148 "Europameister" edition road cars built in October and November of that year. Based on the regular production M3 with the 195-hp catalyst-equipped engine, these were all painted in special Macao Blue metallic (250). Most received a Silver extended Nappa leather interior with hide covering the center console and special diagonally-pleated door panels, plus M-stripe lapels on all four seats. A complete Silver Nappa leather interior (including the entire dashboard, glovebox door and steering wheel) was offered as a rare (and expensive) option. In addition, the Europameister was given the larger 7.5x16-inch alloy wheels, door sill plates with the "M3" insignia and an "M" dead pdeal. A special plaque on the center console reads "Europameister 1988 auf BMW M3" and is signed by driver Roberto Ravaglia.'
I had a Cecotto that had no plaque and contacted BMW GB with chassis number, they confirmed in writing that it was a Cecotto but could not tell me plaque number or replace it as they were put on randomly.

if anyones interested, I mailed the guy with the 'meister and said I knew he'd paid less than 8k for it, and as a man couldnt bring myself to gift someone another 7 grand just for putting another name in the log book, so would he take less than he was asking. nicely, like.
he wasnt thrilled with the idea. or, all that pleasant really. anyway, I hope hes right and its gone in seconds, but my feeling is itll still be around in june.

I actually made him a good bid that would allow him a massive profit, but was still called a time waster- despite saying I only wanted to know the price so as not to waste his (or my) time. How much? Tit.
