Have any of the naysayers actually driven an E6 M5?? I very much doubt it.
Of course not! This is pH sadly, where opinion matters.
Or so you would believe, although with your ammount of posts you are probably deluded.

Another fact to suck on.

Just back from seeing the boys at DMS evil

B L O O D Y N O R A !!!!!!!

(nuff said)

The extra 50 horses is very noticable.
The throttle response is now instant, with a bigger punch in the back.
The revs spin quicker. Generaly rather good smile

Just need to test the top end nowwink

Sports cars aint supposed to be heavy, and a sports car is whats stated in the M5 brochure.

Dont take offence to facts.
The brochure is sales puff. It is a sports saloon. The most sporting of all saloons. It si ridiculously fast and it handles brilliantly for a big saloon.

I am driving an Aston Vantage Roadster this weekend (or would be if I weren't stuck in the office) and, guess what, it handles better than the M5, with fantastic steering and the short wheelbase contributing. It is, much slower than the M5 when you put your foot down on the straight, but the M5 is just ridiculously fast in those circumstances.

The cars are completely different - one is a great fun car which seats two and has a tiny boot; the other is a capacious saloon that can take a family and luggage for a two week holiday across Europe and still make the drive enjoyable for the driver.

The point of this comparison is to highlight the absurdity of your comments.

A good summary Zod. Totally different machines and unfair to compare otherwise.
Glad you liked the V8 though. The chassis is brilliant.

Shady - I agree,

Had one on and off for a while as a 'company car' and apart from the fuel consumption it was definitely a favorite on the fleet. Shame they didn't do a proper manual but the SMG does the trick pretty well. A friend has one with a different 'zorst and it sounds amazing, wouldn't mind a little passenger ride in yours down at LM to see what the DMS magic can do.wink

BTW was that your black Vantage in the RWR group at LM last year? Lovely cars but agree again, just not quite quick enough, and the Sportshift box is a joke IMO. Looks and sounds lovely though. smile

Bizarrely (given their penchant for auto's) they did a 6spd manual M5 which was only sold across the pond. I cant remember why, but I do remember thinking why not sell it here too?!
