Most odd regarding handback (see my post on previous page). The guy who picked mine up noted a couple of issues but would not comment on whether they were within wear and tear. Heard nothing since and that was almost 4 weeks ago

Mine went back a week ago. I had a small dent that did not meet fair wear and tear (where some idiot opened car door onto mine) which cost £70. Everything else was in tolerance

Guy picked it up spotted four small chips and dents (all from stones) which I signed for, although he said were within the guidelines

Car goes through BCA Nottingham today, and the buggers have noted a 10-30mm dent on the drivers door! The limit is 20mm. Not heard anything from Leaseplan, but half expect a call. Will challenge It if I do

Incidentally they have estimated mine at £19700-£20500 for today's auction. They offered it me for £20700. Felt a bit sorry for the car seeing it in the pictures!

On a brighter note they reckon the ex lease M5s are going through for about £32000. That's for a 63 plate with 20k! Very tempting!
Surely if they've already inspected and invoiced you, you're not going to get a second bill based on the auction notes?!

Agree I would expect not

To be honest the guy annoyed me. Small stone chip said it was a dent. I challenged him and said I have been over it with my fair wear and tear guide and everything is fine. He did agree

I said "good cause I've just spent £70 getting a small dent removed as it was 10mm over tolerance". He said "I didn't hear that. If any dents are mentioned I have to log it and the have to do lots of checks on paint"

Was a bit of a dick so bit my tounge.

Mine (13 plate) goes back in 4 weeks. I'll be sad to see it go.

A word of advice please: It has a small scratch which nevertheless is outside of the "fair wear and tear" definition. Should I get it fixed before it goes back? If it makes no difference in price I'll just let the lease company do it and foot the bill. I don't really have time to go dragging it around body shops. It's about 7-8cm long in the middle of the rear door - the sort of thing that would be easy for a decent bodyshop to do. Is it worth paying someone to get rid (have been quoted about £120 for a Chipsaway style man), or are their prices "fair"? If they're going to charge over the odds then I should probably get it fixed first.

Also, it had some work done under warranty - it developed "the fan issue" and whilst in for that, they noticed a cracked sump and replaced that FOC. I imagine there was a big invoice associated with that work, I didn't see it though (I have a receipt for warranty work, but no bottom line). Does this sort of thing need to be disclosed to the lease company?

I feel like I've really looked after this car and it's in great condition, but nevertheless I may be 'stung' at the end of the lease?

I would pay the £120 to avoid any risk of silly charges. I had a dent and just paid it. You doing it will be cheaper I'm sure

As for warranty work I wouldn't mention it

Had my service done eventually, by BMW Aberdeen themselves in the end.

Leaseplan confirmed it didn't have to be BMW, just a VAT registered garage that would complete the service as BMW specify and with genuine parts. But BMW themselves came out pretty much cheapest, when I supplied my own oil wink

£302 for oil & microfilter service.
£152 for the above with me supply 8 litres of oil (£45 from ECP).

She goes back at the end of the month, can't say I'm going to miss it very much. Just want to get back into my own car rather than worry about a borrowed one.

Just ordered an M135i on a personal lease direct from BMW.

Base cost was around £290 inc vat on a 6+23/8k. I've stuck a load of options on it though so looking at £10.3k over the 2 years. Not the cheapest deal, but considerably cheaper than buying one still. I had 2 and 3 year PCP quotes based on the Coast2Coast prices and the lease is around £3-5k cheaper in terms of payments. There is no way that I'd have that 3-5k in equity at the end!

Good to know as i'll be looking at one in August time. My friend and I thought that buying one would still workout better then leasing as the value after the 3 years would be higher then it's depreciated.

How much discount are BMW offering on these now as i heard a while back you could pick one up with a few extras for 26/27k new.

So after handing back my M135i early in September and buying an e46 M3 as a "stop gap", i found its proper replacement on Monday. Unfortunately, with the greatest of respect to the 1er, it simply cant compete with a proper M car, in anyway, bar perhaps mpg, which was 30, instead of 15 hehe

Out with the M135i:

I'm getting mine next week. I got £2750 discount and £3750 dealer contribution. Sports auto with a few options (although I'm already regretting not speccing the HK audio.)

That sounds about right.

The C2C price for mine was about £31k (3dr, auto, full driver comfort pack, pro media, heated seats, heated steering wheel, sunroof, sun protection glass, high beam assist, adaptive lights) on a PCP at 5.9% this was around £15k for the 2 years with a balloon of £20k. There's no way I'd have £5k in equity at the end so the lease was cheaper!

Is the E46 too dated? Looks like you got the E90 for a good price anyway!

I'm 1,200 miles in, in just over a week and a half

Thought I'd add my thoughts on the "jack of all trades debate"
For reference I've had a TVR, Boxster, z4m and on the other side a Touareg, avensis, A6 derv

I've done a few 2-6 hour round trip work journeys, and managed 34-37 mpg (manual), expect this will rise a bit as the miles increase, which i think is very good given the power and number of cylinders. And just about acceptable to the bank manager.
It's soothing enough that I didn't miss the A6, in fact I think it rides better, with better control

Been running the car in, so not pushed it hard, but after some "spirited" driving at the weekend signs are good. It's very grippy, has enough (fake?) noise, and is suitably ballistic

Overall a very impressive package
Yes it could be more ///M but that would detract from the above

Other thoughts:
Dog fits in the boot
HK is better than the Audi Bose
It doesn't have an individual setting for the dampers, throttle etc grr
Damper modes are subtle, but there is a more float in Eco pro.... Not sure they were worth it
Haven't worked out how to get the app to work
Super man spec gets lots of positive comments
Heated seats are too hot
The pops and bangs are childish (good job I'm a child!)

Sounds good! I really struggled with not going for a stock car and actually ordering hte spec I wanted. I'm terrible for waiting.

What options have you got on yours?

So i've been thinking about this more and more and how can leasing be better then buying one? If you look on the used BMW site there are cars like this http://usedcars.bmw.co.uk/1-Series/3.0-M135i/Harro...

which is 2 years old with probably standard spec on it and it's still £21k which if you bought a new one, got a discount and added a few extras you could probably get it for 27k new so over two years it would only loose 6-7k.

Am i being completely stupid at half 8 in the morning with only one cup of tea drunk or am i right?

If you were buying cash, then maybe. I was deciding between pcp or lease.

The car I've ordered was something like 37/38k list. C2C have it for £31k. On a 2 yr pcp the balloon was just under 20k. By the time you factor in interest at 5.9% then the cost for 2 years was around £15k (with my lease just under £11k)

If I was confident in having more than £4k in equity over the balloon after 2 years (so more than £24k px value) then the pcp would be better. I didnt think that was realistic though, thus lease is cheaper.

If you were buying cash at £31k then it is probably worth doing over the lease. Worst case it's much the same, best case you can reduce the £11k cost when selling after 2 years.

Ha ha, in the end i couldnt resist, 5 minutes on the Barclays phone app and i had another £10k in account lol.

Only had it a few days, but there is quite an obvious age gap between the two of them. The e90 is similar to the M135i in terms of interior tech, but more like the e46 in terms of quality, seems to be a good purchase so far. It also sounds ridiculous with the 2 pipe mod hehe
