Lovely looking M6GC ??
I am currently looking at them as a family car as we don't use a car alot.... I've been put off my the comments on lack of traction, living in the Highlands it rains most days. Is the traction issue really that bad? Or just like any high powered RWD?
It’s no worse than any other 600bhp rear wheel drive car. The DCT transmission does not help, but they just need treating with a little respect.I am currently looking at them as a family car as we don't use a car alot.... Some of you might recognise this car, its shown in pages early on in this thread. RichardM5 contacted me after seeing me ask about the M6s and suggested he might be keen to sell his.
A few weeks later and I've got home from collecting the car earlier today.
Many thanks Richard.

I had similar reservations before buying mine (I'm in the Scottish Highlands also!) but everything else about the M6GC suited me so well that it didn't really put me off buying one. In practice, it is just like any high powered RWD, and remember you have complete control of the accelerator! You just have to treat it with the respect 600bhp deserves, and you can put the throttle response and gear shift in their most forgiving modes. When I collected it, it was below zero and I survived fine. (but I'll be getting winter wheels for next winter).I am currently looking at them as a family car as we don't use a car alot.... Weirdly (but probably due to the LWB and front engine config), it's not nervous at all, and I feel I can take more liberties with it that I could my 4WD Gallardo, i.e. if the rear starts to go (which it will still do with warm tyres in the dry if you give it the full beans) you feel like you've got time to gather it up.
p.s. Actually - if you're in the highlands too, please don't buy one - I'm really enjoying the current exclusivity of being the only M6GC owner

This my West Highland car. How many are up here? They are supposed to be rare. The only other one I’ve ever seen was about a mile from my house just a few days after I brought this one home from Southampton! I then bought these wheels off an owner of another one in Newtonmore. They get around the highlands fine and are quite good at getting past the tourists. They don’t like running low tread levels in the wet and winter tyres are essential for a lot of winter driving. Otherwise they are fine. A bit thirsty!
I'm not sure how many are about the Highlands, but I am on the Isle of skye & I know of 1 other here now but there was 2. I can't say I have seen any others while out & about, which is what I liked about the idea of getting one.
I think I will try to get a test drive of one, as sometimes I feel high powered GT cars can be great 70% of the time, then want to kill me the other 30% of the time. The M6 GC looks to makes perfect sense for a family wagon, with plenty power & looks a nice cabin to be in.
What is the cost of annual service costs, brakes ect?

They only bite if you floor the throttle at the wrong moment, but if you leave the TC on you are fairly safe. Servicing costs are very much the same as for any other prestige car, mine costs exactly the same as my LR Disco 5. Brake replacement is the only very costly issue, but depends how you drive, assume pads every 25-30k and discs every 35-45k. Otherwise they drive like any other large car until you tell them to go quicker, then you need to pay attention.
Living in the Highlands, the headlights are about 2k each, each time you hit a deer!

The M6 GC just wasn't getting used, so it made sense to pass it on. In the last 12 months I drove 11 miles in it, that equated to a visit to the main dealers for and Inspection service, another to the dealers for an MOT and brake fluid change and a trip to the local Shell station for some V-Power.RichardM5 what do you follow an M6GC with
Current daily hack is this
This is a very strange mixture of amazing and crap at the same time.
Then if I want a proper car to drive, I have the the choice from the other three cars pictured along side the M6

It's certainly not a low miler John, but it's still in pretty good nick.In the independent pre sale condition report organised by Chazaxl, out of 98 items checked, 97 were classed as 'Excellent - Like New', just one being 'Good - In Working Condition'.

Even in such a classy line up the GC still looks special and it's always a treat to get into. I had considered selling mine but it's just too good to part with it yet.

Just bought the OEM carbon fibre rear spoiler (£540!!! from sycamorepeterborough BMW on ebay compared to £170.00 from carbon factory ) and front spoiler £74.51 direct from BMW. I have also ordered carbon fibre rear diffuser for £350.00 from Carbon Factory, the OEM rear diffuser costs about £1000.00. I hope I keep the car for a long long period to justify these expenses.
Nice one. Pics when done please! What front spoiler is it?

I just got an estimated cost to install all of them at a local BMW Autobody shop = £330.00. I would make a booking next week. I thought it was a bit too expensive, I thought I could fix the kidney grille myself based on youtube videos and posting from Bimmerpost but decided against it
The front spoiler from BMW item no is 51128054346
When fitted I would post pictures
