It's rare to find them like that, I take it you will be keeping it for a long time to come! I really like the original un modded ones, there are too many thrashed and abused ones about. I'm jealous of everybody here, I need to pull my finger out when I get home and get myself a new toy.

I did see a red Evo for sale on Ebay last year, it was in central London had around 20k on the clock. It was absolutley amazing, but he wanted top money for it (obviously).

I spent about 3 years trying to track down a black Evo Sport in very good condition. Travelled up and down the country viewing so called mint condition cars only to be dissapointed. Eventually found a couple of low mileage cars in the region of £25K-£30K but both were red! Thats when I ran out of patience and looked at the Evo2 that I later bought for half the price and lower mileage. Having test driven both the Sport and Evo2 on the same day nion back to back I could find no reason why I should pay nearly twice as much for essentualy 18bhp, less torque, red seat belts, fluffy steering wheel, sporty seats a couple of adjustable spoilers and some red stripes, oh and different colour wheels and fancy red HT leads!

With that said, I'd still be tempted if the prefect example came up for sale becuase I do think they are the dogs, but the head would rule the heart

They do look gorgeous! I even have the AutoArt model of a red one at home.

My ultimate M car would be the e28 M5, they come up rarely though and many are high mileage and in need of a lot of work.
Munich Legends had a red one in stcok last year, it had a full mushroom hide interior and was a shadowline car with the mtec bodykit. It had 100k on the clock but had been through a massive restoration and respray. They wanted 15k for it.

I'm still waiting to hear back from the owners of the M535i. Unfortunatley I'm already having those "what shall I do to make it perfect?" thoughts. If I get it, it could get expensive!

Ahhh, but you have to say that!

Nice car by the way. thumbup

Thank you very much sir !

To be honest, the best ///M car of all time is a really tough one. They are all good and unique in their own separate ways. For me to choose just one is sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo hard. What i do know is this, if i won the lottery then i'd go out and buy one of each model from the ///M car range from the very first right up to the latest.

M3J.

I would probably do exactly the same! I would also have to have a 3.0 CSL Batmobile too...

Having thought about it for a bit now, I think my vote would go to the E12 M535i.

It's not the best M car, or anywhere near it, but I just love the look of these old school BMWs.

From my own totally biased perspective the best one has to be the M635. Same lump as the E28 M5 but with a whole lot more style. Selling mine was the stupidest thing I have ever done weeping. Decent ones now seem to be devilishly tricky to find now, although I'd quite like the stealth black Hartge one Birds have for sale at the moment cloud9

Best m series bmw? thats a no-brainer, its got to be the M1. A piece of motoring history, a legend, it set the trend! back in the days when men were men, and women were men. yes the new M6/M5/M3 are all a techno masterpiece, but for sheer heritage and innovation -its the M1

Well that was included in my previous statement too as it was that very car that got me into ///M cars !

No no no no no ya basts....

Stop saying the E30 M3 is the best.

It's not.

It's rubbish.

It's people like you lot who keep the residuals so high when people like me are trying to get themselves a decent one for the summer

its such a hard decision but if i was forced to only have one M inmy life it would be the E30 M3. Would have any M car in reality though especially a brand spanking new M6!

Well lads, after my little jaunt last weekend with a few friends with TVR Cerbera's i can honestly and truely say that any ///M car is just unbeatable and every model deserves to be the best. I'm currently in the middle of writing up a story and up-loading my pictures but will post up on here for all to read when it's done. We took a trip over to the Nurburgring for 3 days and the car performed amazingly well, even managed to keep up with the guy's and gal's in their Cerb's. Had the second highest speed on the weekend too which lets just say fffffffffaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaarrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr exceded the 155 limiter and the car had more to give but we run out of autobhan !

In action on the `Ring just coming out of the Carousel being piloted by me

More pictures and story to follow soon.

Looking forward to it M3J, I'm planning a trip over in the summer as I've never been before and it is somthing I've always wanted to do.

All I need to sort out is a car...

Do it mate, it's an amazing place and soooooo beautiful over there. I'd obviously advise one word of caution and that'd be please don't get too confident whilst on `The Ring`. Still writing up the story and it's reading pretty good at the minute, just need to do some editing and start to up-load my 400+ pictures !

yep not the first person to say that, nigel mosely told me when i was looking for my old car that on a race track a good driver will fnd a sport evo a few tenths quicker per lap. real world normal drivers prob wont be able to tell the difference - E30 M3's are just brilliant though.
